Town Square Condos — Hotel in Waterville Valley

Honestly very run down and dirty, it needs cleaning and upkeep desperately. Our condo was spacious but the furniture felt oily or greasy hard to describe but we used a comforter from the bed to cover the couch, our beds were comfortable but the furniture was pretty beat up, The electrical was a horror show of broken outlets, outlets that didn't work or a cord would just fall out of the outlet because they were so worn out they couldn't hold the weight of the cord, painted over mold ,cracks filled but not painted, peeling vanity, moldy shower curtain that was way too long and laid in the bottom of the bathtub and I almost slipped and fell on it, locks on the main bedroom door had no guts inside so they were useless, tiny tv with a weird letterbox picture and no TV guide so you had to go channel by channel to see what was on,broken toaster, dishwasher was full of dishes( just how I want to start my vacation emptying a dishwasher) strong ethnic food smells in the building so we bought glade popups to help with that,the sprinkler heads had missing covers so you see up inside the ceiling, the elevator doesn't go up all the way so you gotta haul your bags upstairs,the last night there was a party across the hall from us and some kind of brown gravy like substance in the hallway in the elevator and up the stairs, the hall was usually full of garbage each day and it also smelled.During checkout there was a mentally ill lady running around the property and they ended up calling the police on her after she scared my wife and kids,I brought everything to the attention of management and couldn't even get a response, the girl at the desk said the place was really run down and should be torn down and rebuilt, I completely agreed. UNFAIR OR DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS CH 93A||We stayed at Waterville Valley resort in New Hampshire from February 15 to February 18, 2024. ||Their website indicates that daily housekeeping is provided, which includes trash pick up and fresh linens. Additionally, there was an envelope on the microwave in the kitchenette, requesting tips for the housekeepers, whom did not exist. ||At no time was there housekeeper in our unit, nor was our trash picked up. ||On 2/16/24 I called the front desk and requested linens and trash pick up. The operator said they would take care of our request, but we never received fresh linens and the trash was never picked up. ||I looked around to see if I could find trash bags to empty trash myself, but no trash bags were provided. ||I was surprised to see an unexpected charge of $150.00. On 2/20/24, I called the resort and spoke with Kristen to ask about the additional charge. Kristen told me that the additional charge of $150.00 was for trash pick up. I explained to her that we requested trash pick up and towels, Kristen told me that they do not supply housekeeping. ||I explained that their website says that they provide daily housekeeping for trash pick up and fresh linens. I also explained that there we were not provided with trash bags to bag trash ourselves. Kristen told me that they have not provided housekeeping services since before Covid. I also told her that there was an envelope requesting money for a tip for the housekeeper. We unfortunately booked this hotel during a heat advisory. We were never informed during the booking process that only half the rooms had A/C and there was no way to guarantee you got one with it. We didn’t realize the issue until we walked into the 90 degree sauna that was our room and couldn’t find a thermostat. The front desk staff was very nice and tried to help out by sending up a portable unit that vented out a window as all other rooms were booked. This unit was small and just couldn’t combat the heat (not too mention we were on the top floor of an old building where heat was constantly rising to). Perhaps other people are ok with excessive temps, but we aren’t, especially at the prices we were paying. After trying the portable unit for about 4 hours we decided to throw in the towel (sweat soaked at that). We checked out that same day and were penalized 50% of the stay for doing so. I normally would completely understand this policy, but I don’t feel that we were presented with an accurate description of the accommodations which wouldn’t affected my decision to stay at Town Square. I’m sure this place is lovely during ski season, but it caused a lot of stress for us and ruined the first day of our trip, not to mention the loss of a lot of money during a time when everything else costs so much that we could only plan one quick road trip after two years of nothing.
