Came here on an exchange with RCI, for the last week of August. Waterville Valley is a small town with many lovely forests and hiking trails for all levels. Picturesque town square with a pond for boating or bird watching (heron and cormorants) and a nice cafe La Tasse Cafe. The Coyote Grill served good food too. The Athletic Club with one week membership with the exchange looks nice but we did not use the facilities.
The Inns of Waterville Valley (IOWV) is very dated with poor maintenance and a musty smell. We arrived on Friday, 5 mins after 6pm and the office was already closed, so there was no one to help with questions we had, until Monday (office is closed 6pm Friday through to Monday morning). We got a note that our RCI assigned unit which was one with a patio walkout was not available (maintenance issues) and was assigned a similar unit right above but without a patio nor a balcony - we felt short-changed. The toilet in the replacement unit was not filling so we had to fill the tank up with jugs of water for a flush. We reported to the office on Monday, but it was never fixed during our time there. The mattress was badly soil and the flat sheets were not holding onto the mattress, so we had to go by Walmart in Plymouth to pick up a set with a fitted sheet. The IOWV is the worst unit exchanges we have made over the last 40+ years of timeshare ownership. There were no midweek towel exchanges nor...
Read moreThe units are dated. Unit 201 smelled musty, the bathroom tub flooring needs to be refinished. The beds need up dating. I felt like I was sleeping in a hospital. The stiff cotton sheets and comforter are all white. Bed is small for a master and crinkles. The dishes are all white too. The stove burns do not sit flat. Refrigerator is old but works. The couch and chair look dirty and have lost stuffing. Very uncomfortable. The front deck needs repair very soon!!! Best seating is in lobby very comfortable furniture. Good hiking trails, cute town square. I'll try again in 4 years maybe the beds will be updated. If you can't get a good night sleep you don't want to go back. I'm a owner of a prime summer week. I have a 2bedroom that sleeps 8. I'll use it to exchange while I can. If I come up to this area I'll go somewhere else just to get a good...
Read moreWe arrived later evening with a list of dos and don’ts for the unit including report any damage and remove your trash. We spoke with Maximilian who was professional and kind to report our concerns about dirty dish and silverware, a broken glass, and mold in the tub. Due to time (a short weekend getaway) and lack of availability in alternate rooms we felt the need to stay where we were and asked for compensation (comp one night) - we sent pictures to management and spent well over 3 hours trying to get things resolved. At the time of this post we’ve not received any positive response and we’re told if we were really concerned we’d move out and possibly receive compensation. Very disappointing as we’re in the hospitality industry and NH residents, and this does not...
