DOROTHY I am who I AMDOROTHY I am who I AM
I came to Florida from Jersey for a family vacation. My brother again suggested a restaurant because I was in the mood for Mexican food this place was supposed to be authentic Mexican food. We had a total of five adults and two children. They do not offer a child's menu, my brother and I ordered fajitas I ordered the farm veggies, he ordered the chicken. My one niece ordered three tacos each, of different kinds one was shrimp, one was chicken and one was fish. My other niece ordered for her two babies quesadillas, she ordered tacos for herself, and my sister-in-law ordered enchilada. Everybody at the table including me enjoyed our food my brother said that the chicken he got for the fajita was very fatty and he really did not enjoy his dinner but the flavor was good he said, if there was fat trimmed off the chicken it would have been perfect. The water looked nice it came in jugs on the table but, taste 🤢. And smelled. We asked for bottles of water they said they ran out. So it smelled like sewer water. I think it's a bit on the pricey side for all of us cost $245.00 with a tip. And this is a lunch ? Thank you to my brother for paying the bill. I want to say that the service was okay. The waitress was on point with getting our order correct, and the food was delivered by different people they were all very accommodating but, no one smiled! Seemed like they were not so happy working or working here. Could get a 5 star if they make a few adjustments. Food taste on point just trim fat off chicken. Clean windows and door jam, up to the ceiling rafters bi weekly tell your deep cleaners. You can imagine cleaning brings in New customers, advice for owners I used to run businesses and help owners make 25% profit in 1st yr. Give employees incentives for working, they need praise too.

This is for the location in West Palm Beach, Cityplace; they also have a location in Delray Beach and Fort Lauderdale. It is a very big place, 2 bars, and well decorated. Service at the bar was good and the cocktails are okay; or maybe they are good, just not great, but that’s only because, like many others in the area, they tend to be a bit mild. They offer several cocktails, creative stuff, which is great; I just found them a little light, but as said, I could come to the same conclusion about 9 places out of 10 in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. The guacamole is great, really rich in texture and flavor; doesn’t come cheap but nothing does, I imagine with that size and that location their lease must be huge. Tacos were ordinary instead and a bit disappointing; I had better tacos or at least same quality in more modest and cheaper places. All in all, I think you pay also for the investment they made, for the area and because the place of course looks neat, it’s not your hole-in-the-wall American-Mexican place. The food though, while some items are very tasty, is probably not a great value when it comes to proportion price-quality. Let’s say that this is a trendy place and in a nice area, and food is from okay to pretty good, drinks are various and some elaborated but could use a bit of spark (aka = booze). In its genre it easily makes in the top 5 in WPB, so at the end it’s another good addition to the downtown WPB food scene. Will I go back? Sure thing, it’s a nice place. But I might not go out of my way just to eat here if I am far from downtown.

Very disappointed with the service. I've gone to el camino in delray great service experience but west palm beach location was horrible. I went to the bar & it took almost 10 mins for someone to acknowledge me & my friend. It wasn't to busy for someone to take our drink order. When we had our drink order taken we had someone else take our food order which wasnt a big deal but the server who took our food order mixed it up so when we try to locate that server we couldn't find her. The food was good so we left things as it was. What really disappointed me was when I asked for the check another server assisted us which confused me even more but when he left the check before I could ask for the creditcard I had on tab he walked away. I was trying to get the server attention even just raise my hand polietly to tell him can I please get my card back. Since we had cash to cover the expense & my friend even had the check in her hand with cash to give it back to him but he ignored us. When I finally got his attention because of the loud music he couldnt hear me say could I please get the card back he thought I meant to swipe it. When I told him nicely hi I was trying to notify you that if I could please get my card back since I was paying cash. Instead of apologizing saying im so sorry about that he just rudely said I could just reserve it. At that moment I was so disappointed because I could understand a server treat you horrible if you were rude from the beginning or even speaking down to them but that wasnt the case at all. What really made things worst was that I was at the side of the bar where most servers are getting there orders or completely drinkings. Instead of being helpful they were to focused on the football game that was playing since 6 of them were watching & even talking about the play. This was a very unprofessional experience highly recommend if you go to el camino take the drive to delray location you...

I used to really really love El Camino, about two years ago. Now as they’ve expanded, the quality in service has gone down. I do still have an enjoyable experience when I dine in, but calling in a carry out order is nothing but miserable. This is a fourth time in a row my order for carry out has been wrong. And not just one or two small items wrong—majorly wrong. I even got to the store early this time and noticed on the hand written order from the phone call, that almost everything was wrong. They did fix probably 50% of the issues after I pointed them out but, obviously if I hadn’t noticed before they finished making and packing the order it would have remained wrong. I’m not sure how you can copy down an order so wrong? And yet, even after pointing out the issues, we still got home to find all the extras we paid for missing, and a completely wrong taco and burrito order. The icing on the cake was when I paid with cash, and the hostess disappeared with the payment. She comes back 2 minutes later just talking to the other hostess. I ask her for my change and receipt, at which she responds “we don’t do change” - HUH? She had to grab the manager and seemed extremely annoyed, even though this was 4:00pm and the place was dead enough for 4 waitresses to be standing around chit chatting near the outside bar (Which I don’t fault them for with it being slow. Just wanted to emphasize how truly busy it was not). Unfortunately, this will be the absolute last carry out order I do with El Camino West Palm. And it will probably be awhile until we dine in again with how frustrated I truly am with...
