This was my second visit here. I took my grandson several years ago, and it was such fun that I was excited to take my granddaughter this year. There were not as many "pirates" on the cruise this time, but everyone is having hiring issues, so I'll chalk it up to that. The two who were on the cruise did a nice job and made sure that every child was included. On my first trip, the parents were guided to the covered seating area in the rear of the ship so the children were seated where the action was. That did not happen this time, so many parents were seated so as to interrupt the flow of the show and lots of kids couldn't hear or see the pirates, and the parents were in the way of the action, such as the water cannons, the spotting of the treasure chest, and the limbo dancing around the deck. That said, the two girls I had with me enjoyed the trip. The website said face painting was included, but it did not exist. I also promised my granddaughter that I would buy her a sword there, but there was no shop this time. She wore the pirate costume I made for her; the only missing item...
Read moreWhere should I start... other than me being louder than the crew... what happened to wet dog.. we went in 2014 and him and the crew were amazing very enthusiastic .. current crew other than my daughter talking the captain and polly's ear off was just not very full of life.. we felt they did not want to really put the effort to have the full of life "i love my job" attitude for this... my 15 year old was actually eager to see the old crew but was disappointed... no face painting, tattoos were not put on.... no root beer, no boat chase.. wth happened guys.. I am offering to come down and get this cruise back to the way it should be.... was so disappointed I can not even repeat how we felt I am sure some of the littles had fun but for what we knew of the this, most of the current bad reviews are pretty accurate... if we decide to ever come and give it a whirl I would update but for now.... ill keep being upset. Get some peps in your step this momma grades all aspects of adventures... here is hoping to a better pirate cruise experience in...
Read moreWe took our 7yr old autistic daughterand had a blast! As an autistic parent, you worry about how the staff will treat your child. The leading pirate noticed she was different and made her experience very fun. No judgment looks! Very family friendly. I totally recommend this place even for much older children. The pirate jokes are hilarious 😂. To all the kids on the spectrum, I recommend sun classes, head phones and their favorite drink if they dont drink root beer. Also sun block on a hot sunny day. Even though your in some shade. The sun does hit you at some point. I hope we can fit in another visit for this summer. I believe a second time will really be special now that she knows what to expect. Thank you to all the staff for making our pirate...
