Key West Cafe — Restaurant in Wildwood

I have mixed feelings about Key West Café. If I had a different server I think it would’ve been a completely different experience.

I came in the off season when things weren’t very chaotic and the restaurant wasn’t excessively busy. I came in solo, which admittedly, is certainly not a server’s dream. My server was slow to come to the table and when she did, she was curt. She took my drink and breakfast order and left. She was slow to bring my coffee and then when my French toast came, it was cold. It took several minutes for a server to come around so I could let them know. When my server was notified she had them make me a fresh plate, which was delicious.

After I ate, she checked on me and brought me my bill. She was pleasant enough but it was clear she wanted me out of there. I put cash down and waited almost 10 minutes for another server to give me change while my server talked to some locals on the other side of the room.

Overall I saw other customers that were content and servers that were attentive and friendly. The food was good, affordable, and the kitchen fixed their mistake quickly and without any issues. I do recommend coming to Key West Cafe, but I hope that management has a conversation with this server about...

We get there at about 1:30pm and they had no problem seating us nor did they tell us they close at two. The second we sit down the waitress tells us shes tired and if we have our orders ready. We asked for a few minutes and 30 seconds later she came back and asked if we were ready once again. We quickly picked our food and as we are waiting she brings drinks out and we were told they are different drinks then they were. Simple mistake. She comes out again and explains she out of long rolls and asks if we want something else. She suggested normal bread and we agreed . The food comes out and the food in indeed on a long roll even though she said there was none and they put the burger on bread. Very disappointing because something else would have been ordered if she told us that was going to happen. She came back as we were eating and told us shes dumping the coffee. None of us ordered coffee. Its 2 at this point and she also stood at our table and checked her watch making it clear she wanted us out. Uncertain why we were seated we asked for boxes and left . of course still leaving a over 20 percent tip just because we rarely tip less. Not a place I will be going back to...

This is in response to the Delovi Canales review as I was part of that party.. First, you are not the owner but, the manager as, we were told that's who you were. Second, he never intended to vape there. You saw the vaping unit and you said there was no vaping allowed, to which he responded, he knew and did not intended to do so. From the minute we were sat you had an attitude. You came with silverware for seven, reached over and put it all together in a bunch like, figure it out yourselves. What restaurant does that? Then you, told us about the party we were waiting for that if you started serving they would have to sit elsewhere, even though we hadn't ordered yet. Mainly, it was the disrespectful way you treated us and talked to us. When we decided to go elsewhere because of the way you acted, you proceeded to argue loudly at us even though we never raised our voice at you. We are the customers and if we decided to go elsewhere, that's our choice. It was your own doing. No serious establishment will treat customers the way you did.
