Read moreI highly recommend not staying here while in the Williamsburg area. I am an avid traveler and also owner of a short term rental business in NC so I know what this business should look like and Governor’s trace is far below industry standards and expectations. The gentlemen who operates the business is stuck in generations past and therefore does not cultivate a positive or quite frankly safe atmosphere for guests of diverse backgrounds. Myself and two of my close friends were in town only for the weekend and he was extremely abrasive, pushy and down right rude. He overstayed his welcome in one of my friends rooms the entire time his partner was showering and his partner had to say “I’m naked in here” before the man would leave. He also walked in on my wife while she was changing because he was so adamant about knowing when she wanted breakfast. He accosted all three of us about payment the morning after we checked in and even partly denied entry until we paid. We had booked this place a year before we visited so I informed him that we still had another night and could settle payment at check out time, because I wasn’t sure if I had already paid in full or not but he was so pushy that even though I requested a few minutes to change and go through my credit card statements, he came knocking at the door less than 3 minutes later and tried to push his way into the room despite me not even being fully changed yet. This made me angry so I said “I need a couple of seconds” and he had the audacity to literally start counting me down. Never in my life have I been so disrespected as a customer and this is only the tip of the ice berg with our weekend here. All of us felt so uncomfortable here that we made it a point to stay away from the house as long as possible to avoid interacting with him. We each paid handsomely for just a weekend here and it’s unacceptable how he acted and treated us. I tried to calmly address the issues we were having and he walked away from me mid sentence. This man should not be...
