Our Golden Corral closed down during the pandemic so while away on vacation in Williamsburg we looked forward to having lunch at this establishment. With hungry bellies on a hot humid summer afternoon, we entered and were seated almost immediately. The place looked clean and the food looked great. After being seated we were greeted by the waiter whose mask was below his nose and it had stains all on it. It made me want to puke. He took our drink orders quickly and we were off to the buffet. Everyone must wear gloves before serving themselves and the staff are on top of it. For my first plate I grabbed a hamburger and fries along with chicken, greens and Bourbon Street chicken. I couldn't wait until I bit into that hamburger. After blessing my food I grabbed that burger and took my first bite, my teeth almost fell out. It was so tough. To top that off the steak fries were extremely cold. And while my wife and I sat there trying to eat we were harassed by the hundreds of flies. It was a fight for dear life. Needless to say the only thing we enjoyed were the greens. Just like the Cowboys during the playoffs we were one and done. The waiter with the filthy mask did stop by the table often to see if we needed anything that's the only reason I left a decent tip because it sure wasn't the food. Before we left I had to use the very big boys room and it was nasty like a truck stop. I couldn't believe my eyes. My wife also went and came back to the table with the same results, this is unacceptable. An establishment like this needs to have someone monitor the bathrooms constantly with the amount of people going in and out. They also need to make sure that their staff has clean masks on, our server looked like he had snot on his mask. It's bad enough he looked like a serial killer with his sneaky little eyes. Anyway visit this place at your own risk, maybe we just went on a bad day. Oh, and one final note, be sure to count your money at the register unless you're using a debit or credit card. Unfortunately either some people can't count or some people are trying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Golden Corral in Williamsburg, Virginia has gone downhill tremendously! I arrived at that location at 5:30 PM on Saturday (5/24/25) for dinner. Most of the options were either empty or dried up and sitting there from hours before and looked disgusting. Something has dramatically happened to this location, it has never been like this before. The guy cooking the steaks had no clue of how to cook a steak and didnāt understand English. I ordered rare two times and got well done with burnt edges both times. He chose to ābutterfly ā the steak and serve nugget size pieces. Why would you butterfly a steak when ordered rare? Unbelievable for the amount you pay to receive food quality like this in todayās times. I should have requested a refund and chose another place to eat, buy I was with my girlfriend, who paid for the dinner and didnāt want to cause a scene for her sake. I tried to speak to the staff who worked there refilling the bins about all the beans being very dried up and inedible, but after trying three different people, none of them understood English and they just walked away. š¤¦āāļø The fried chicken bins were constantly empty unless you wanted a leg, which I wonāt eat. The desserts look so dried up and horrible that I would not eat any of them. The deviled eggs look like food poisoning waiting to happen. I was scared to eat anything with mayonnaise after seeing the food. I do not see this location remaining open much longer with this type of condition. Update (5/25/25) - both my girlfriend and me have been sick in the bathroom several times since dinner last night, not going back there ever again! If the Golden Corral company cares, they will resume operations that worked, like theyāve had for the past several years and change the employees back to the caring employees Williamsburg deserves and expects. Itās obvious that the entire management and staff has changed and apparently has franchised this location,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited on a Wednesday night the week between Christmas and New Years. Never been to Golden Corral before but we heard mixed things and it was conveniently close to our hotel. For the price we paid for 5 of us we were pleasantly surprised (2 adults and 3 kids). It was very crowded but we didn't have to wait in line to be seated.
They seemed a little short staffed. Plates and bowls ran out multiple times. The steak was good and cooked to order. The pork chops were fanatstic too. The fried chicken was also good. Clam chowder was very tasty and lots of clams. Salad bar was also great, no lines there. Desserts all ran out at one point. They couldn't keep up.
Minus a star because the soft serve machine only had chocolate. Said they ran out of vanilla. The cocholate wasn't doing so great texture wise either. Then the Icee machine only had 1 of the 3 flavors working, key lime pie only, and it wasn't frozen very good either. The bread pudding was good though. It was a little more custardy than im used to but the flavor was there.
Waitress was still very good dispite the place being so crowded. Annoying that we prepay for meals as we had to find cash for tipping our waitress and couldn'tput it on CC. Would definitely visit again just for the value andnselection of food for picking little kid eaters. Not an everyday dinning experience but once in a...
