The reason I'm not giving five stars: I bought a doughnut I was told was lemon, but ... honestly, I don't know what it was because it didn't have much flavor, but it was full of itty bitty seeds so I'm guessing raspberry or blackberry. This is a problem because a family member has diverticulosis and seeds can make them ill. Fortunately, I tried the doughnut, not them, and can tell you it was too dense for my liking. So, I'm unlikely to try another doughnut from here.
That's the bad news. I arrived in the afternoon, it was the last doughnut of its kind,, and the cashier asked someone in the back what the doughnut's flavor was after it was removed from the case. That's not a great excuse when someone's health is on the line, but I'm marking this as a mistake and feel like avoiding the doughnuts will solve the problem, at least for my family. Now that this review may make the staff aware of diverticulitis (the infection that can follow seed ingestion for people with diverticulosis), I bet they'll be more careful.
The good news is that the cinnamon roll I enjoyed this morning is - hands down - the best keto treat I have ever eaten. Our family is on medical-grade keto, and has been since 2019, so that's really saying something because we brake for keto bakeries.
We picked up a few other treats that look equally delicious to the cinnamon roll. For 7 baked goods and some peppermint patties -- also yummy and delicious, including tax, we spent just under $60.
We're in town for six weeks and I have no doubt that we'll return a couple of times and end up freezing some goodies for the road because quality keto bakeries are few and far between.
And, despite the snafu with the seeds, I can tell this bakery does care and they are good at what they do.
This bakery is right off of a busy exit, so be careful not to miss it and forget about taking a left turn out of there no matter what Google...
Read moreI was looking for sweet treats in the area and found this place and thought it was cute ! I went in to order and I got two cider donuts out of the bakery cooler they were sitting in and paid 14.00 of my hard earned money for these donuts when they were handed to me they were cold so I asked the cashier if they were supposed to be cold and she said yes . I left to get in my car and try them and they were not tasty to me so I hesitated going inside to ask for something else because I do not like conflict . So I went into the store and the same cashier came out who was nice to me by the way and I said these exact words “ hey , not to be rude but I did not find these to be tasty and they were cold “ before I could even say anything else the OWNER LAURA came flying over the back telling me “ leave them on the counter and do not come back “ and I told her to calm down because I hadn’t even had a chance to finish my sentence . I asked her if I could get something else because I did pay $14 for TWO donuts and she said no you can leave and not come back . And I let her know I wasn’t being rude to her I just didn’t like the donuts and she told me to leave and that I would not be receiving a refund and I asked for her name and she gave it to me and told me to leave the review . As a Christian woman first and foremost I felt horrible because I’m not rude to people and she was completely nasty and as a woman of color it did not feel good but regardless of the shade of my skin no one deserves to be cut off while talking and told to get out and never come back . Would I recommend this place I’m not , maybe she’ll be nicer to you , maybe she was having a bad day . There’s Grace for her but she should be held accountable for...
Read moreWe’ve purchased a few items from SNS over the last year or so, & everything has been delicious! The zapple cookies, spinach pinwheels, garlic knots, cupcakes, cheesecake, & cookie sandwiches are all to die for. The texture on some items is a little different so if you go in close-minded you may be disappointed. For instance, the cupcakes are dense, not fluffy, but very moist and absolutely delicious. Same with the garlic knots. I’m pre-diabetic with PCOS so I do my best to stay away from added sugars, carbs, & sometimes dairy whenever I can as it’s supposedly inflammatory to those with the condition. I really really appreciate that I can come here and pick whatever I want since it’s all sugar free. My daughter also has abdominal migraines so we have to monitor her sugar intake. It sucks to have to say no to almost every treat but having SNS locally I’m able to swing in & pick her up something delicious. She loves the chocolate chip cookie sandwiches; they’re truly amazing so I understand why! I do wish they’d give some protein brownies a whirl. I bet they’d knock them out of the park! (& I’d be by each week ;) ) Now I just need to come by when there are cinnamon rolls. I’m...
