WiFi is completely unreliable compared to other hotels in the city. It's impossible to get any work done when the actual access point disappears every 30 mins or so and has to reconnect, which can take a few minutes. Plenty of cafes around with good WiFi or you can use 4G, but it's worth noting.
The room I stayed in wasn't dark. There is a blind that hangs a few inches from the window which lets a thin stream of bright light directly onto the pillow, meaning you start waking up at 6am. This may be specific to that one room, but I have no idea how this issue has been overlooked and it suggests that they don't consider basic stuff.
There is no Do Not Disturb sign! At least I couldn't find one. Housekeeping start their rounds at 8.30am and you can hear them knocking and shouting "housekeeping!" with no way of stopping them doing the same to your door, short of opening it and explaining you don't want to be disturbed. How's that for a mobius strip of nonsense?
The lobby is on the second floor to allow for a fairly non-descript restaurant downstairs. Not the end of the world, but it's a bit of a pain to negotiate 20 steps every time, especially with heavy luggage. There's a lift in the restaurant but it's odd.
I haven't tried the breakfast because it's always terrible in these places but I did have coffee and the breakfast options look like the same carb heavy, filling food as everywhere else. Noodles and bread and all that. I would much prefer to not have a free breakfast and have the option to buy something substantial but I guess that's not what people want in general.
Location wise, it's right at the edge of the burgeoning expat area, which has some great coffee shops and bars. Check out the 'Night Market' which is a selection of 10 or so small scale food vendors with tacos, gyoza, fried chicken and lots of other interesting stuff.
Staff speak very little English which is fine, but it's also very easy to find hotels where the English level is much higher. They're friendly, without a doubt, but pretty much everyone is friendly around here.
It's definitely an okay hotel if the stuff above wouldn't bother you, but I changed to a different location rather than spend the extra night, even though it had...

Reception is fair, ordinary.
Complimentary breakfast seems to be understaffed of they don't know what they're doing because the tables are always dirty and staff are always standing around. Also very limited variety of foods, and staying for 2+ nights will get very sickening
Washrooms have begun to grow mold and doesn't give the feel for the cleanest environment.
My room had a bracket crack in the window, meaning there was always hot air coming in, no matter how high the a/c was turned up. We notified reception and they proceeded to stay 'we'll look into it' and possibly give us a new room. Ended up staying in the overheated room for 4 days.
The cleaning ladies have a tendency to throw things out. For example, I had a tongue cleaner and tooth brush in my container in the washroom, and it vanished after coming home. I called reception, and after waiting quite a while, they said they'll notify the housemaid, but never offered to replace, give funds or even apologize for the inconvenience because we didn't know where else to find tongue cleaners.
Should look into other hotels with decent wifi as there are plenty of other cheap, 3 star hotels around this area...
