Merika Hotel — Hotel in Đà Nẵng

The most important first: The whole area is under construction and ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend for any kind of holiday. Furthermore it can be very cold (18 degree) and rainy from October to March. Now to the hotel: Staff is very kind but not helpful because they do not speak English good enough to understand the guests. Seaview rooms have no real Seaview (more a palm tree view). The internet connection (WiFi) is too slow to open even a simple website (instead we can recommend to buy a Vinaphone SIM card - fast and cheap mobile internet). The bathroom was always flooded after a shower. Our room was nice and basically clean but last night we were attacked by a big flying cockroach (that is a no go). The breakfast was ok but you get only one glass of water for drinking (no tea, no coffee). We rented a bike for a half day (65.000 VND far too much - 70.000 in Saigon for whole day) and the bike was in a very bad condition. All in all one of the most depressive places we have ever been. The room was bigger than we expected and super clean. We paid $87 US for five nights. I was impressed the owner picked us up himself in a Lexus car.||It was easy to rent scooters at $5 a day and the scooters were great and only $3 to fill up the tank. Some staff don't speak great English but all friendly. That's what GOogle translate is for. ||The location is awesome just a few minutes to walk to the white sandy beach and a mix of street food and nicer restaurants.||The aircon kept dripping every day but they always fixed it relatively quickly.||We unfortunately had extremely loud neighbours at 6 am and 3 am an all hours in between for three nights. We needed a last minute place to stay in da nang after our plane was delayed for 5 hours. I found this place and although it was cheap and the staff were very polite there were many flaws. The hot water wasn't working our entire stay and their only explanation was maintenance and after a conversation on the phone to reception in very broken English I was just hung up on. There were geckos and cockroaches all through our room and bathroom and the Tv wasn't working. The beds were also incredibly hard and uncomfortable I'd probably have had a better sleep...
