Hanoi Hoàng Gia Holiday Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

We stayed at some great places during our Vietnam trip, but Royal Holiday Hotel Hanoi raised the bar to a whole new level. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left for the airport, the service was outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, and Tich Anh (sorry if the spelling is off) sat down with us to go over top tourist spots and must-try Vietnamese dishes, which was incredibly helpful and set the tone for our stay.

The location is perfect—just 1–2 minutes’ walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. We loved joining the locals for early morning exercises and evening strolls around the lake. The hotel is also surrounded by great dining, shopping, and massage spots, making it super convenient.

Our room was on the smaller side but very comfortable and quiet at night, with a cozy bed that made for great sleep. The freshly cooked-to-order breakfast was a lovely way to start each day.

I have stayed at a lot of hotels and the service at this hotel was the best I have received. I was in direct communication with the hotel prior to arriving and they were very helpful in arranging transport to different locations for us. They even had the very kind bellboy come escort us from another hotel and carry our luggages. Ella the receptionist was so polite, friendly, welcoming and accomodating every day of our stay. The hotel service is pretty much bespoke and very personalised with the hotel being contactable and responsive about anything via WhatsApp. The hotel staff even arranged packed breakfast for all of us as the pick up for our Halong Bay tour was at 6am (before breakfast hours). When we flew to Hoi An we realised we had left a shirt in one of the hotel rooms and the hotel quickly arranged to see different courier options to have this expressed delivered to our Hoi An hotel before our departure from Vietnam. Excellent stay (18 nights), the staff are top rate and so helpful. This is a small and narrow hotel with larger front rooms looking onto the street and smaller back rooms, typically three rooms to a floor, one front and two back. I had a small back room (18m2) with no view, looking straight into a wall, but that wasn't a problem for me. I didn't come here for the view, and the room is fine for one person. For me the two most important things were satisfied, a quiet room and a comfortable bed. The double bed was great, quite firm which is what I like. Location couldn't be better, just 2 minutes walk to the Lake which is really the central focal point of the area. Nice cooked to order breakfast served between 6.30 to 9.30 am. Perhaps the only slight negative is there are only four tables, so at peak time, it might be difficult to get a table, but there is no space for more tables. In the room there was a Smart TV with Western News & Movie Channels, also Netflix. Nice shower with both Plunge and Flexible shower heads.
