Located in the heart of Old Quarter Hanoi. A fantastic place to check into if you want to fully experience the Old Quarter streets. The room I stayed in was big and cosy. It felt especially like home when Luan and his family came to welcome me for the stay and various times for meals with their family. I felt really bad to have to turn them down a few times as I have a really packed itinerary.
Luan is really helpful and willing to share his experience in Hanoi. It's a bonus as he is also a tour guide. Most importantly is that he could speak English pretty well. Therefore, communication was not a problem at all. Even when he is away for work in the day, his brother and mother-in-law were able to serve me. He is also very kind is booking my Halong Bay cruise with Vspirit Cruise and was very flexible in the payment for it. Oh yes, if you are lucky, you are able to see his cute son running around too!
Room 301 has really nice and comfy bed, a sofa corner and a balcony that over look one of the streets of Old Quarter. However the "private toilet" is located right at the stairway at the common corridor. For a dude like me, it doesn't really matter as I believe no one really uses it despite it being in a common area.
Recommended affordable stay if you wish to experience Old...

We went just to the travel shop and to pick up food and when we came back, the room was unlocked. I was not happy!||- The hotel is just above the bar that belongs to the hotel. So expect very loud music during the evening and night. The staff was sleeping on the sofa next to the reception desk during the night.||- We had a room in the third floor, there is no lift and the stairs were steep. There is no light in the staircase so expect to use your phone or torch in the...
Read moreVery average stay. You can’t get in the reception very well because of all the motorbikes parked outside. Looks like/ is a tour booking counter. Not very welcoming, give you a map of streets. Ok location if you want to be surrounded by bars. Rooms are ok, hot water and WiFi. Didn’t meet any other guests. It’s under renovation / not finished. The hallways are dusty and like a building site, the rooms are done up though. A man maybe a builder turned the hall lights on around midnight which lit up our room so we had to go out and turn it off. A weird vibe about this place which we didn’t like so much. There’s better places to stay, wouldn’t stay again. The main guy tried charging us full amount for the second night which we couldn’t end up staying for. Not very nice. After a while of discussing he still made us pay half. Fair enough but we have never been charged before so found it unfair considering it’s supposed to be a budget ‘hotel’....
