Absolutely the worst stay in Vietnam over a 2 month trip. The street is so busy you can hardly walk. A taxi can’t come on the weekends.the “courtyard view” is a window looking at another window and a wall a few feet away.(see photo). I had laundry done, promised in 24 hours. It was late. I repeatedly asked for it and when it came it had my clothes along with some women’s clothes that didn’t belong. I asked at the front desk if it was too late to eat dinner in the restaurant @ 9:36 pm. I was told the last order was 9:45 and the receptionist took my order and walked me down to the restaurant ( I think level B1, below reception)and put in my order. About 15 min later a worker came up to me and told me if I wanted to order I’d need to go to the sky bar. I told him I already ordered. Again he insisted I go to the sky bar. NO! I walked the gentleman up to reception and attempted to explain it. I went back to the restaurant where they decided they would take my order but I needed ti go to the sky at to eat it. NO !!! I was finally allowed to eat my dinner in the restaurant after all that fiasco. The advertising says sound proof rooms but let’s be clear. The place is noisy as can be and they even provide earplugs in the room. That outta tell you something. When I checked out I was given an evaluation and I told them I didn’t want to fill it out. They persisted and I simply told them I didn’t want to relive my experiences there and I was under no obligation to fill out the form. Thank you The manager came to me while I was waiting for my taxi to the airport and offered me an envelope with cash for the taxi as an apology for my inconvenience at the hotel. I told them I appreciated the gesture but no thanks. I couldn’t get out of that place fast enough. 4 days there and plenty of money spent on the worst hotel I...
Read moreBeds are very comfy and breakfast lovely. Don’t trust the review replies from the hotel, if they’re not satisfied with a bad review they write that there’s not a booking under your name!! Unfortunately I had an experience with the hotel driver who picked me up from the airport which tainted my stay. After searching for him for at least 15min and having to call the hotel, the hotel then called the driver while I was in the car and were clearly upset with him which he then took out on me accusing me of lying to the hotel. This made me, as a solo female traveller, very uncomfortable. When I arrived at the hotel visibly shaken (I had tears) and explained what happened, they still had the audacity to charge me 700,000 for the ride. You pay for a premium service for at the very least to feel safe. When I went back down to ask if I could have a wine to my room they offered to pay for a free trip back to the airport which I had no desire to get back in a car of theirs. Then they refunded me the price of the ride. I ended up not getting the wine as I refused to give the hotel more money. There are also exposed wires at the back of the cupboard. Upon check out I was absolutely hounded by the general manager about the situation to the point she wouldn’t let me leave when I was waiting for my Grab and offered to refund the price of the room to remove this review!! She kept me for about 5-10 minutes repeating this saying sorry and kept at me to remove the review. I honestly felt bullied. Reviews should be honest and reflective of your experience!! She followed me to the car and tried to gift me something which I refused and I struggled to shut the car door. I’m actually so shocked. This situation was WORSE than the car ride. And it’s for this reason I’ve rated it so low, which is a shame. Don’t trust...
Read morePros: Staff is the top compliment, they are just the sweetest and nicest!! Our original room 207 had an aircon and slight sewage smell issue and they shifted us immediately to a nicer room and were so nice about it. Shoutout to Nikki Hannah and honestly everyone on shift during our stay from 5-7 June 2025 including the superb bell boys. Beds pillows duvet very comfyy similar to big brand name hotels! Breakfast very sumptuous, the pho was so so yummy!! Gorgeous rooftop pool and bar too but we didn’t have time to enjoy sadly They were so kind to gift us a tote bag on our check out and also allowed us to return after our Halong Bay trip to take a shower in their private spa room.
Things to Note: This is something we learnt but generally old quarter hotels are more boutique (no big brand names) and due to the structure of buildings, do not have much ventilation and sunlight. We highly recommend to upgrade to an EXTERIOR window room if that’s important to you. We didn’t realise the windows are interior only and our first room 207 was a little musty as a result, but our second room 308 was lovely! It was just hard to wake up without natural sunlight haha Please note that we love the location because it’s RIGHT in the middle of all the action, steps from the night market and food and shopping insanely convenient but that also means street noise!! We are heavy sleepers so we are totally ok with it but to note if you dislike noise! Coming back to the hotel can get a bit overstimulating with the music blasting and touting along the streets but hey, that’s part of the Hanoi experience!! if you are looking for a quiet more luxury stay we definitely recommend the French...
