So I cannot leave a review on booking.com due to the fact because the owner amended my booking.com reservation to be dodgy which I felt pressure for me to allow which I did not like and I cannot leave a review and I am just getting around to writing my reviews and I stayed 5 nights mid October.

I honesty don’t know why this place gets such high reviews. The man (I think the owner) at reception every single time I went in and out of the hotel or had breakfast puts a lot of pressure on you to book tours with him. I went and booked elsewhere, he made me feel very uncomfortable and I did not enjoy engaging with him. That’s not a good feeling for a solo female traveller. I noticed at breakfast he only ever did it to me and maybe because of being a solo female but I hated it.

The rooms are getting very run down. I believe the property was looked after better before it was sold. It was not that clean, I had hair in my bed when I first arrived. It has way too much junk in the room which makes it feel cluttered. Like why have a heavy bulky chair in the room that cannot be used as a table is against it. Just remove the chair. Bed was mega hard, harder than usual Asian beds. You cannot leave the air con on during the day and it takes over an hour to cool down. I set it on 17 degrees but even then I was sweating so it was more like 26 degrees.

I booked a balcony, on no website so the photos show a box with a window like the picture below. It was horrible and felt dishonest that this is what they consider a balcony that you pay extra for.

The only thing I liked was the location but honesty I came back to Hanoi twice and tried another property and it was much cleaner, more looked after, awesome location, quiet...

My mum and I had the pleasure of staying at Hanoi Royal Hotel during what was meant to be a routine visit to Hanoi. However, Typhoon Yagi arrived unexpectedly, and we had no idea. From the moment we checked in, Peter, the hotel manager, made sure we were informed, safe, and fully prepared for the situation. His professionalism and genuine care were truly outstanding.

Our original plans were disrupted due to the typhoon, and we ended up extending our stay at the hotel. Peter didn’t just manage the situation — he made sure our trip was still memorable. He swiftly reorganised everything, from transportation to last-minute tours, including an unforgettable trip to Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay. Even with such short notice, Peter managed to arrange everything flawlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy our time in Vietnam despite the weather challenges.

The hotel’s breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of options to start the day. On top of that, they even offered money exchange at competitive rates, which made things so much more convenient for us.

The rooms were comfortable, the location was perfect for exploring the city, but it was Peter's exceptional service that really stood out. His dedication and attention to detail turned what could have been a stressful time into a smooth and enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a hotel that truly cares for its guests, Hanoi Royal Hotel is the...

Amazing last 2 days of our tour in Vietnam by staying at this hotel !

Hotel with a great team. Everyone smiles and eager to help for all reasonable request. We have reached late from SAPA (Hill station), they have sent an email to check what time, we will be checking-in. The check-in was swift and they also upgraded our room at no additional cost. We loved the Antique design of the rooms. They showed our room and explain the various facilities.

The hotel entrance is on narrow road but it is very beautiful from the inside. The exchange rate offered (USD and Vietnamese Dong) is also good at the hotel. The hotel is very near to many eateries, beer street and mini-marts. The hotel has elevator. The breakfast has few items and some other items can be ordered with a menu.

Hotel has also helped to book Halong Bay Day Trip, which was amazing too as we were a little worried to book it without reading its review but the tour was very good. The tour guide was an nice person. The hotel has also helped to book car to send us back to airport at very reasonable rate at our convenient time. They helped to keep our luggage safe when we went for Halong Bay Day Trip.

Overall, a lovely stay during our last 2 days of Vietnam Trip and highly recommended to stay in this hotel, specially...

We booked a room at Hanoi Old Centre Hotel. Upon check in, we were served with welcome drinks and cold face towel to cool down. We were surprised when the hotel staff informed us that the room was not ready due to the aircond still being repaired. They arranged a room for us at their sister hotel. That is why we end up staying at Hanoi Guest House Royal. The staffs was polite and very helpful. They call a taxi and send one staff to send us to the Hanoi Guest House Royal. The entrance of this hotel is located in a back alley. Not that impressive but once we get inside, we were amazed with its real beauty. Simply elegant and clean. We were welcomed with drinks and cold face towel. Breakfast was simple yet delicious. You can choose from the buffet served or ordered from the menu, included in the room rate. The hotel is located at Hanoi old quarter where many shops were located, just a walking distance to night market and hoan kiem lake, the centre of Hanoi. Overall, the stay was enjoyable and pleasant.

The service that we got in this hotel was top-notch. The receptionist Peter was very accommodating, always asked how we were, anticipated our needs especially when it came to airport transfers (we arrived at dawn and it would have been difficult for us to get a Grab at this hour, Peter warned us), he was also easy to reach on Whatsapp should we need any assistance as we went around the city. I accidentally left something I bought at the hotel and they took good care of it until I was able to come back and retrieve it days later. When I come back in Hanoi this will be my first choice for accommodation.
