Hortensia Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

We got moved to this hotel by the hotel we had booked, as our original room was found to be faulty. Arriving at 2pm we got offered a room that smelt musty on entry, mould on the wall, peeling wall paper, and a torn bed cover. We did not accept the room but got offered another so long as we could wait until 7pm as it was occupied. This we accepted as we had been awake since 5am that morning. So we trudged the streets until 6.45pm only to be told the occupant hadn't booked out and we would have to again wait. Enough, we gathered our bags, walked around the corner in too a hotel and checked in. It was fantastic, and cheaper. Even better we got a full refund from the original hotel. Interesting in the hotels reply they told me to tell the truth, I stated I never stayed. But the room I was offered for 7pm, when I arrived at 6.45, as stated, the romm had not even been vacated, or the previous resident looking like returning. I did...

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and disgusting. We were meant to stay three nights. We arrived yesterday and found dirty used underwear hanging on the window, The bidet was leaking all over our bathroom floor, random black hairs & dust all over the room and there was blood on the bed skirting. We made our way downstairs to give them the dirty underwear and complain but the man absolutely brushed it off and ignored it. When we woke up this morning the room was COVERED in tiny bugs. I showed staff the video, they were so incredibly rude and would not give us a refund. I am not one to speak up and “be a karen” but this was incredibly feral. I managed to get half of my refund after this man arguing and having a go at me for 20 minutes. If I could give it no stars I would. Please don’t stay here. I wondered why this nice little property doesn't have many reviews on TA. I stayed here with my family for two nights and I absolutely loved it. Staff very friendly and helpful. They also gave me a super early check in with a very minimal price and it was a good gesture as I was with my two kids. Location is ideal and suitable for travellers need. Lot of cafés and restaurants are nearby. Bathroom is little smaller but that's what you expect in an old city hotel. I have already recommend this hotel to my other friends who intend to visit Hanoi.
