UPDATE: They emailed us, apologised, and offered a full refund :)
The most expensive massage and the worst experience we had in Vietnam so far.
I don’t know if we came too late in the night (around 8 pm) and everyone was tired, but the service we got didn’t match the reviews we read at all. Instead of tea we got cold water in tea cups (not a big deal, but if you’re offering all the guests the same treatment, let it be so).
We chose one hour hot stone massages and were asked if we wanted them to be medium or strong, we both chose medium. My massage lady treated me like a sumo fighter, lol. Back/neck massage was really good, but what went after that was noooot cool. I think they heated the stones too much, so my masseuse accidentally dropped a hot stone on my arm and burned me. There was a lot of bone cracking with no any heads up, I had to ask her to stop, because it hurt. My massage lady was pretty aggressive with everything she did, aside from massage.
Since we had a couples’ massage, both of our masseuses were chatting almost non-stop, and my lady was yawning loudly. It’s not a super bad thing, but we paid a million dongs to get a hour of peaceful, meditative and relaxing experience, and didn’t get that at all.
After the massages, the host gave us a form to fill about our experience and we both checked ‘averrage’, that was followed by him offering a free 30 min shampooing session and 2 vouchers of 100.000 dongs each, which was nice, but we didn’t want to get any more treatments. After we thanked him and declined, he insisted we get the treatment and started following us through the door, asking personal questions and persisting to continue a conversation, which was very uncomfortable.
I do understand the importance of a feedback and their wish to improve, but consider either going in the morning or finding a different and...
Read moreMy partner and I went to get a simple 30min hair wash. Went upstairs and was told to lay on the beds. Once I got on, my lady tugged on the back collar of my shirt and said something in Vietnamese, which I assumed she meant that she wanted me to take my shirt off. I didn’t mind if she needed the shirt off but my partner was not asked to do the same, which was odd. He was able to keep his shirt on. I asked in English if I needed to take my shirt off, and did not get an answer, so I did as she asked. Nothing was offered to me to cover me up in my bra, nor were the curtains drawn once I took my shirt off. There was another lady beside me getting her hair washed as well, and I felt that if it was a man beside me then I would have felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable. Honestly they need to improve on providing privacy for customers. Since I had nothing to cover myself, I used my T shirt to cover myself during the whole session. During the hair wash, she was using her nails to scratch my scalp, and initially it felt okay but after she repeatedly scratched the same areas it honestly started to feel uncomfortable. Then I also felt her wringing my hair out and pulling pretty harshly after rinsing, which made me worried that it would damage my hair. As she was drying my hair, she was pretty rough and almost poked my eye out and didn’t even apologize. Left my hair probably 80-90% dry, but I was kind of just wanting to pay and leave at that point. My partner and I were asked to fill out the questionnaire at the end, and we just rated them “good” cause we honestly just wanted to leave that place. Otherwise, the manager or owner of the...
Read moreA terrible experience at the SPA! I got my nails done here, and the manicurist injured my hand! This was my most unhappy experience in Hanoi.
My husband and I came here for a hair wash, and I had my nails removed and got a new gel manicure after washing my hair. The hair washing process was uncomfortable, with a lot of water spraying on my husband's face, and even some shampoo got into his eyes. Additionally, the beautician asked us to take off our tops without providing towels or beauty gowns to cover our bodies, leaving my husband to blow-dry his hair shirtless, which felt awful. Then, during the nail removal and manicure, the beautician was very rough. The process of removing the original gel was painful, and when I got home, I discovered many wounds on my fingers, which still hurt to this day, causing a lot of distress.
The only star I'm giving is for the store manager, who was very sincere in apologizing on behalf of the beautician and offered us a 30% discount along with a brief foot massage. I appreciate the manager's attempt to make amends. While I accept his goodwill regarding the unattractive nail design, I cannot tolerate the injuries. Therefore, I've decided to leave a...
