#1 Price: I have stayed in many locations in old town because I like to move around and experience different settings. At this price point; this hotel by far (after 3 different hotels) is the best choice for your hard earned money.Location: Excellent; 25 seconds walk from lake and close to all the attractions of old town.Really doesn’t get any better than this.Room: Everything works.-Large New smart TV with Netflix and YouTube-Fast WiFi/internet (can remote work)-(High ceiling and spacious) (I’m 5’8 ;see photos for reference)Many hotels around the area cut corners and make their rooms small and ceilings low to save space which can make you feel claustrophobic after a day or two.“Very important after a day out in old town with all the tight spaces / crowds and chaos.”-(Barely any street noise inside room; I’m sensitive to noise and slept like a baby)-Room cleaned everyday by staff.+Bonus points for the versatile lighting inside room; 8 different switches for different lighting options.((Hotel Staff)) Available 24 hoursYoung and eager to help; very knowledgeable speaking many different languages and knows the town very well.(Don’t underestimate these young men and women.)I have never seen such hard working young individuals who have no other intention but to help you have the best stay at this establishment. (Special shout out) to “Denny” who ran out in the pouring rain to help me find my car ride to the airport because we were running late. Conclusion;Stop wasting time reading this review and book this hotel before the rooms are all taken; I was lucky to find a room since they’re mostly...
Read moreMy review of La Mandarina is all about value and experiencing Vietnam in a family-run hotel. I give La Mandarina a 5. It's a great value. The staff who greets you and take care of you are excellent. This is not a business-style fancy-pants hotel with a western-oriented breakfast buffet. This is a great (very affordable) hotel in an alley street of Old Town Hanoi. The owner family are really nice, honey people who are trying to give you a comfortable stay. ||I stayed in the Deluxe Double Room. It was very large and comfortable. Super quiet at night. Clean and had everything I needed. There is a reliable and fast elevator that took me to the 6th floor.||When I'm in another country, the last thing I want is the same 'ol western free breakfast. Here, you simply walk out the door and there are tons of places for local...
Read moreA hidden gem of a place in Ha noi to stay. My interaction with the receptionist began before my travel. He was very responsive and well-mannered. I booked a room in 6th floor with Lake view and it was exactly the same as described. Day and Night view was amazing and you could see all the major happenings from your room. There are many other hotels and resorts, but this place was relatively new, well maintained and decently priced compared to others. Receptionist helped me for few local transport and currency exchange. He even took me on his scooter to get local food from nearby streets. Usually most of the hotel people don't care about their customers when they leave, but for my surprise he came and helped me with luggage and stuff. I will definitely come back one day for this hospitality and...
