Horrible people ruining the good name of Saigon. Do not believe the good reviews.
We booked 2 nights here looking at the reviews and photos. We arrived at night and there were 2 women at the reception who seemed okay at first as they suggested we take a look at the room first since the room was too small for our luggage and it was on the 4th floor with no elevator available and nobody to help us take our luggage upstart.
Upon checking the room (like she suggested) we agreed that we wont be able to stay there. Instantly the receptionist’s demeanour changed and she asked if we would like to cancel our booking to which we agreed and asked her if she can recommend a stay nearby as it was 11pm and we needed to crash since we were tired. However the receptionist said we should apologise since they made the room for us (not sure what effort was put in making the room anyways) we politely apologised multiple times as we understood she was upset. But she kept saying look for accommodation wherever you want just get out right now. As my wife was putting her shoes back on, she kept saying get out (maybe even cursing in the local language) which didn’t sit well with me and I said there’s no need to be so rude. The other lady started screaming on top of her voice so much so that the entire alley outside could hear her scream. As a man in a foreign country I didn’t want to stay there any longer since I felt unsafe about two women screaming for no good reason so I left and waited in the alley while they kept screaming more at my wife and throwing paper cups and used tissue paper at my wife while she was trying to make sense of what’s going on while wearing her shoes. My wife kept apologising even though she didn’t do anything but they kept throwing stuff.
This whole incident was so traumatising that my wife was shivering. As tourists visiting a foreign country, is this how guest are supposed to be treated? Maybe they were the owners of the property that’s why such horrible attitude but is it really justified when the guests are apologising without any fault? And why suggest cancellation in the first place when it triggers your inner demons so bad?
Never have we ever met such horrible human beings in our lives and I hope their business runs to the ground if this is how they treat guests (especially my wife).
1 star is too much to give. Save your money, time and dignity and go stay at another hostel. Spending the night on the street is better than setting foot in this hostel.
Update: The male guest (me) already apologised twice and so did my wife. Many time. You suggested that we check the room first which we did. You asked if we were want to cancel, which we did. You said we should apologise which we did (and we genuinely meant it. We don’t like wasting anyone’s time even if they’re rude to us). Pointing and saying that YOU were being rude doesn’t give you the right to scream and shout and create such a big scene. I honestly felt like it was a classic extortion scam where you scream, the crowd gathers and we get extorted for money or even more. Remember. You’re local, we are not from Saigon. We were scared for our lives by the way you reacted. Besides, throwing stuff at my wife? Not even god will forgive you for that, forget me. You never apologised, never helped. You didn’t even smile to greet us. Pathetic hospitality. Your reply shows your entitlement and honestly your racist attitude. Good luck with your hostel regardless. We hope someday you get better and...

You walk into an open plan modern kitchen and reception desk. The staff are very friendly, I believe it’s a family ran place which I always prefer. ||||The rooms are spacious, spotless, have air con and surprisingly there was no noise in the room at night from the clubs in walking street. The room has a smart tv so you can sign into your own Netflix, a nice wet room with hot water every time we needed it. There is a stocked mini fridge which is priced reasonably and they operated an honesty system at check out to pay for anything used. ||||We booked a tour to the cu chi tunnels via the hostel which was a really well ran tour (Kim Travel operated it) and felt good value too. For 2 nights and the tour for 2 people cost 1590VND which we found to be exceptional value. ||||Staff provide small bottles of water for free if you see them downstairs each morning and the fridge has small and large bottles along with beer and some sodas. ||||The location was excellent as we could walk most places in no time at all and wanted to be close to walking street. We didn’t get any taxis during our stay here. ||||This was my first accom during my trip to Vietnam and it will be...
Read moreFrom the very first day we did not feel welcome here. Even a simple “hello” was often ignored. Upon arrival, we were only asked for our passports and payment — no information about the facilities, the water dispenser, or even that the door gets locked at night. There was no interest in us as guests. Only cleaning lady was able to smile to us, and be nice.
On our last day, my boyfriend was very sick with a high fever. I asked if he could stay in bed 5 hours longer after check out time (as we had a flight then) and even offered to pay half a day rate. Despite several of the same double rooms being empty, we were still charged the full price for the room!
The “common kitchen” shown in the pictures is not for guests, only for the family. The terrace looked nice online but had no shelter from sun or rain and not even a fan, so it was difficult to sit there. The place doesn’t feel like a hostel at all — there were barely any other guests, and the family tried to avoid interaction. Our room was on the 4th floor with no lift, so if you have luggage or mobility issues, it’s not a good option. Small ants almost everywhere in the room.
The location is okay, the rooms look new, renovated and clean, but I would not recommend...
