AVOID AVOID AVOID Would give this place a 0 stars if possible Firstly, and most importantly, there was an electrical fire that started in our room from the fridge's plug, which luckily my husband spotted and pulled out in time before it escalated - Thank god we were awake, as we arrived late to the hotel so went for food, and when we returned, within 10 minutes the plug started to spark and smoke, just as we were about to go to sleep - If the fire had started an hour later, we would have been fast asleep and who knows what would have happened! We had problems with this place as soon as we arrived - The hotel is located down a dark, dingy alleyway and the reception area is like a building site - The photos shown on the website are nothing like what is in real life (Maybe 20 years ago, or with major photoshop!) - When being checked in, the receptionist said they were going to give us a room with no windows but we said we weren't happy with that as it wasn't what we had booked, so she said she would give us an 'upgrade', but as the conversation went on, she said they would charge us extra money for the room, which we said we were not going to pay as they had basically conned us into thinking we were getting a room which they don't have - When we got to the room, we dreaded to think what room they were originally going to put us in as this was in no way an 'upgrade', it was depressing and worn - The wallpaper was ripped, there were live electrical wires hanging from the wall, the fridge was dirty both inside and out, bathroom door & bedroom door was grubby - After our complaint about the fridge being a massive safety risk, they tried to change it out for another fridge which we said we didn't want to do as we weren't confident that it wouldn't happen again! They offered us 2 other rooms, after telling us they were 'fully booked', which we eventually decided to move to one, and they were in the same state as the original room, so this is clearly a problem throughout We explained that we really weren't happy and that we wanted a refund, which to no surprise they said they wouldn't do as they had a 'no refund policy' - My husband said we would leave the hotel the following day, but they still refused - We felt we were misled with the photos online, their service was terrible and they clearly don't care about the safety or thoughts of their guests We had 6 days booked and left in less than 24 hours as we...
Read moreWe booked Galaxy Boutique Hotel through the Airbnb app, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really don’t have any other option. Here’s why:
Space felt very tight: What was written as SUPERIOR BIG FAMILY ROOM turned out to be just a small room with three beds placed in it. It felt quite cramped for our group. The room, kitchen area, even the corridor—everything felt small and congested. It’s not at all as spacious as it looks in the pictures online. The images on Airbnb make the place look much bigger and brighter than it actually is. In reality, it felt dull and a bit suffocating.
Overpriced basic items: Even water bottles were being sold at a higher price than local stores, which felt unnecessary and unfair. We got same water bottles at 11000 VND and they were selling it for 20000 VND
Extra charges that felt like a trap: This was the most frustrating part. We were charged 200,000 VND for a tiny stain on the bedsheet, which could easily happen to anyone. Also, the bedsheets provided by the hotel already had small stains on them when we checked in. We even informed the receptionist about it, but they didn’t seem to take it seriously. Still, when a small new stain happened during our stay, they charged us 200,000 VND. This felt really unfair and inconsistent—especially when the linens weren’t spotless to begin with. There’s hardly any space in the room to eat properly—so if you eat on the bed (because there’s literally no floor space to sit), be super careful. Even a minor mark can cost you. Honestly, it felt like they were just waiting for a chance to charge extra.
Overall, the stay was not comfortable, and the way they handled things didn’t feel guest-friendly. If you have other options, I’d suggest going with those instead.
Special Mention: Jade, the receptionist, hosted us exceptionally well. Among all the receptionists, she was the only one who spoke English and made us feel...
Read moreStayed in this hotel, at first I thought it was near at the airport that's why I booked this but when you're from airport coming to the hotel it might take around 30-45 mins going there but when you're about to leave, it will just take you around 20 mins depends on the traffic (different route) but the traffic was not that bad, also their room where I stayed it's clean, there's no bed bugs, it was room 304 but the problem was that I can hear some of the noise outside so it's not completely sound proof but it's okay tho coz it's not that noisy at all, and for the staffs! My gosh they were so kind, also the staff that let me print my documents for the last minute, I come there again to hotel just to print my documents because I had some trouble, unfortunately they were run out of bond papers but luckily I have a scratch bond paper so we just use it, he was so kind that even tho I wake him up just to print my documents, before that there's this lady too that print my documents before the guy, she's very kind and the other girl too, I'm so thankful that they have a printer inside the hotel. Also their food, (breakfast) it's enough for me as someone who doesn't eat that much for breakfast, their breakfast is 1 bread, it's like a bagel and a two fried egg with some slices of cucumber and tomato. Their location, was good tho but it's inside of the street, it's near at the park too, which is walking distance only, you could go there around 2-3 minutes, a lot of food establishments near them also an ATM. For me it was a good location to stay at, also it's a good location to go to the famous places in Ho Chi Minh. There's quite a lot of hotel near at this place. Thank you for the staff that helped me print my docus! You're an angel...
