A hotel with no hotwater/ no safety/ broken promises
Liked · I want to say location, but it just next to the primary school, so the noisy level is high in the morning.
Disliked · This is my first time to Vietnam, city is nice, food is great, tour group is fun, sounds like a perfect trip, except one thing - the hotel. (i check in 23 Dec almost mid night, check out 26 early morning) Hot water: i start with the worst one. i booked the Deluxe room in particularly because only it has the bathtub (even rejected booking.room free upgrade). But the hot water in my room is unusable. First need to wait 5 mins+ to get the hotwater come out, then when shower, the hotwater eventually gone when i just applied the shampoo. I have to switch to cold water only to finish it. Next day i took video, it shows the hot water come back after 4 and half minutes, but then keep on and off, which is unusable at all. Desk phone: I have never ever get in a hotel with the phone cable being cut, and phone cannot use. So for all my questions (TV, safebox, door card etc), i have to go out of room, take lift down to front desk, ask, then back in lift and room. So i cannot imagine in case of urgent event, how to hotel to notify hotel guest? this really put hotel guest in danger. Service: Front desk staff told me at 23 Dec midnight they will fix the phone/hotwater/door card (i only get a key not door card) in 24 Dec morning. And 24 Dec morning he confirmed to me again that technician will come at 8:30+am. So after whole day tour group and back to hotel, i was very upset that staff told me the tech guy is off for the day, no one fix anything, they properly will fix tomorrow. So they just lie to the customer in face. wow. in 25 Dec they offer to upgrade my room freely after 25 Dec 3 pm, which is too late and too little. initially i booked room for the bathtub and leave in 26 early morning. so i refused. Safe box: turns cannot change the lock code, so i have to go down to front desk (phone not working remember?) to get the magical number to use the safe box, and carry the key of the box all time with myself. door: the chain lock is missing dont know why. also door card never give, only...
Read moreSpent three nights here in early January. The unit was spacious, comfortable, clean and practical. We were staying on the 9th floor, one floor above the restaurant, where we occupied the largest of the three units on the floor, a one-bedroom apartment, with separate bedroom, living area, and a sizable kitchen area, plus a reasonable size bathroom (though fairly sparse). The bedroom area is fairly spacious itself (we did not need to layout our suitcases in the living area). The king size bed was comfortable. The decor was simplistic and practical. The living/dining area was large enough for entertaining (can seat/fit a dozen people comfortably). The wifi in the room worked well. The kitchen well equipped with lots of counter space. Overall, the suite was comfortable and homey, not super luxurious, but felt like staying at home.
The building was also quite well located, walking distance to many key attractions, and walking distance to lots of dining options, from pricy touristy restaurants to the east to much more local options to the west. It is situated next to the Tao Đàn Park. While you can see Bitexeco Tower in a distance, the view is actually not that spectacular, just overlooking not very well maintain rooftops of other buildings.
The room was cleaned diligently everyday. Front desk staff were efficient and helpful, and spoke very good English (better than staff at five-star international hotels in the city.) The breakfast was okay, adequate but not great. Choices were limited, not surprising given there are not that many units in the whole property. It can up its game however by ensuring there is adequate supply of its...
Read moreI booked the most expensive suite, what i got what was a very dull run down budget room. "Home away from home" Hmm not quite: In my kitchen at home i have, cutlery to eat food, a microwave, glasses i can put ice in to drink from, glasses of wine, plates to put my food on, a functioning water jug, a garbage bin in the kitchen. They have a kitchenette with empty cupboards and drawers just for show. I also have an ironing board and an iron so that my clothes can be nicely ironed to go out for dinner etc. This hotel did NOT equip anything like this in the rooms or had put any thought into making stays more comfortable and convenient for people to live in. I found i had to continuously request for items from the front desk who did not quite understand many of my requests. The rooms themselves are very run down and old, the rooms were not quite cleaned correctly, i found the floors dirty and when placing my black shirts in the closets my shirts would then be covered in thick grey dust! House keeping forgot to clean my room a few times, Breakfast was below average, breakfast selection was quite poor, They had a menu with a list of about 5-8 things you could select from for them to make for you, i skipped most of my free breakfasts and went outside to nearby hotels to enjoy their buffet breakfasts. What i paid for the room compared to what other hotels had to offer i kind of feel being ripped off, there is no value for money staying here.
Would i stay here again, NO! This hotel claims to be 4* however its much...
