I stayed in this hotel for one night with little expectations given how much I paid for it, but even then I was disappointed. The room was cruddy but not too terrible, fairly clean. The wifi was good, but that's about it.|My biggest issue came in the morning, I awoke at 6 ready for breakfast which was included in the price. The menu in my room said "dial 0 to call reception with your breakfast order"- first problem here was there wasn't actually a phone in my room. So I headed down to reception to order my breakfast to find it empty. I waited 30 minutes for someone to come, tried calling out to see if there was anyone around to no response. Decided to skip my included breakfast and go to the Starbucks around the corner and THE FRONT DOOR WAS LOCKED. Again I waited and called out and there was no one around to even let me out of the hotel, so much for 24 hour reception! So I was stuck in this hotel with no food and no water, and decided to go back upstairs and pack my bag so that I could simply get out of there as soon as possible. Checked the mini bar for anything that I could eat or drink to tide me over- completely empty! I came back half an hour later- still no one at reception and door STILL locked. I waited ANOTHER 30 minutes calling out, still no answer. Finally, a Vietnamese woman came through the door at 8am with some groceries and was able to let me check out and get the hell away from that place as soon as possible. The hostel that I stayed at next was a welcome relief and cost me 1/3 of the price. |In summary:|-no breakfast between 6-8 even though supposedly anytime between 6-9:30|-reception is in fact not 24 hour and no warning is given when reception will be unattended nor how long it will be unattended for|-empty mini bar fridge|-locked me inside for 2 hours with no one around to let me out and no escape- thank god I wasn't catching...
Read moreThis is NOT a 3* hotel. Far from it.||It is a building-house. The family lives by/at the reception's area.||||We bookd for 4 Nights.||||The (new?) owner (?) /staff - do not speak English and far far from friendly and accommodating. ||Aparet from the fact that the rooms are on the large size, NOTHING you read on this unpleasent place - gives you the real deal!||In every corner one will see mention of the place being (what they would it like to be perceived as)-hotel.||IT IS NOT!!!||On arrival, I had to wait and listen to nearly an hour of argument between the owners (?) to what it seems, the money they have received off Expedia is less than what I have paid.... So they wanted me to pay the rest.||Then they argued that the price is for one person when it clearly stated 2 Adults.||Room was on the top (5?) Floor. NO lift. No one to help you with the heavy suitcases.||Room: although very big, is dirty. Read moreWe are budget backpackers so £10 per night is our usual price. For that you usually get a nice, no frills room in Vietnam. The pictures of the rooms in Huong Trinh are quite deceiving and for £16pn a total insult to anyone paying to stay. We swallowed our pride and stayed here for 2 nights only because we wouldn't be able to get a refund through Agoda and the owner doesn't speak much English. We carry sleeping bag liners with us so we slept in them. If you want a basic roof over your head it will do but you can get better for cheaper. The owners take no pride in the place at all. Reception is filthy, the staircase littered with junk, spare toilet rolls and soaps etc. The bed had no sheets, just a mattress protector and the pillows are like bricks. We stayed in room 2 which involved only 1 flight of stairs but a trip to the top will take 5 flights, no lift! The place is ridiculously noisy: between children crying, screaming or playing, dogs howling/barking and the family who run it showing no regard for sleeping guests do not expect to get much sleep. Don't bother setting an alarm you def won't sleep past 6am! The volume of conversation from downstairs, they might as well be in the room with you. No offer of breakfast but I wouldn't eat here if you paid me. Rooms are in bad shape, wallpaper peeling, stained walls, the fridge stank and no ones ever used a duster in here! Loads of cobwebs and we woke up with several mosquito bites. The only good thing I can say is it had good...
