My husband was in contact with Hieu Pham (Sales & Marketing exec) prior to booking La Siesta Premium Central, since all the pictures of the Le Anh Xuan location looked identical the Ly Tu Trong location. He was assured that the new hotel was comparable to the one on Ly Tu Trong. They were opening a couple weeks before our arrival, and my brother had stayed at their Ly Tu Trong location last year on their opening month. We were confident after being reassured that all would be ready for our 4 night stay. We booked 3 rooms as our adult daughters were bringing their boyfriends for the first time to Vietnam.
When we got there, we found that the hotel was significantly smaller, with smaller rooms and facilities. The pool, exercise room and bar were not ready yet (and they were smaller too). There was about 1 hour of confusion going back and forth. We were also told that this is a lower end hotel compared to their other one! We would have paid more to book the other one had we known. We still have the email chain where my husband asked what was different between the two hotels, and Mr. Pham's response that they are similar, never mentioning that the newest one was lower end.
Huong Nguyen (manager?) was very helpful and upgraded us to higher level rooms, though she told us that the Executive suite was higher than Junior Suite, but later told us the opposite when I asked for 3 executive suites. She also said that the other hotel was 2-3x more expensive than this one (not true, it was maybe $20 more per room on Agoda). We ended up with one ES and 2 JS. The rooms were nice enough though the JS was small. It took the wind from our sails though having come from such nice hotels in Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Hoi An. Breakfast options were limited and basically the same every day - not very tasty. The desserts were inedible. Just felt like a disappointing way to end the trip from a hotel standpoint.
On our third day, we were told that the pool was ready. We went up and it was still being worked on. :(
I hold Hieu Pham, who told my husband false information responsible for misrepresenting the hotel. 1 star for false misrepresentation. The pictures of the hotel when booking are INCORRECT as were his assurances that they would be the same level.
Huong did her best, and a shout out to her for giving me her whatsapp info to contact her 24x7 and doing everything to make the best of it for us. Shout out also the bellperson, Long, for going above and beyond to go to the supermarket to buy something I was looking for and couldn't locate. No complaints at all about the staff on site...5 stars for service. 5 stars...
Read moreWe experienced incredible hospitality at La Siesta Premium Saigon Central during our stay. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we received a warm smile from Miss Trinh Nguyen (Taylor) along with refreshing welcome drinks and delicious traditional Vietnamese dried fruit. She was kind, knowledgeable, and patient. She answered all my questions, which were many, and gave us reliable recommendations. We were especially touched when she arranged for a cup of hot ginger tea for me and warm milk for our two (2)-year-old to be delivered upon finding out that we were sick (she wasn't even at the hotel - she had already gone home). She truly goes above and beyond for her guests. It was unreal.
Breakfast buffet was amazing and definitely the highlight of our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed everything - I mean EVERYTHING. There was not a thing we didn't try or enjoy. There was one (1) personnel who spoke Japanese and her name was Thoa. She was friendly and polite. She made sure that we were well taken care of. We looked forward to our breakfast everyday.
Kien, a young gentleman with glasses, was particularly kind to my son. He paid individualized attention to us and would take his hand when walking down the stairs. He made sure that he was safe, which we appreciated more than anything.
Speaking of kindness and individualized attention, Huong was exceptional. On our last day, November 14th, 2024, we left a tip in the box at the reception, but also gave a tip individually to several personnel who were particularly helpful and kind. Everyone gathered outside of the hotel to see us off, so I tried to give Huong a tip discreetly. And what does she do? She turns around and announces to everyone that we gave them a tip!! I told her that I had already left a tip in the box for everyone, so it was for her to keep. She smiled and said it was not necessary. In the end, I had to fight with her and shove it in her hand and insist that she kept it. Fair and principled, she is a born leader and a rare incorruptible human being.
I have traveled extensively throughout my life, but never have I received the level of attention and care we received at La Siesta Premium Saigon Central. Not at Four Seasons, not at Ritz-Carlton, and not at Le MĂ©ridien. They have the most wonderful staff and that is an invaluable asset. They made our vacation truly magical and unforgettable. We love Viá»t Nam and would like to visit HĂ Ná»i next time, but now we want to come back to Há» ChĂ Minh City, so we can see our friends at La Siesta Premium Saigon...
Read moreWe stayed at La Siesta for five nights. Coming directly from 15+ hours of traveling.
When we arrived in our taxi we were instantly greeted by one of the ladies in the reception by our taxi. They took care of our bags and helped us to the reception for check in.
We arrived before our actual check in time, but they asked us to have a quick seat and they would try to sort a room for us asap. As we were waiting, we were presented with complimentary drinks and snacks. One of the ladies in the reception also took the time to chat with us about our stay and then mark all the sights we should see on a map.
After a brief wait, our room was ready and we headed up. The room itself was very nicely and tastefully decorated. Coming from Europe, I would say that their level of standard was on par in with what you would expect from a luxury boutique hotel in Europe. Everything was exceptionally clean.
Breakfast was a mix between European and Asian. Coffee was excellent, made by a barista. Fruit was plentiful and very fresh. The selection did not change so much throughout our stay. But we still felt that the selection they had was focusing on quality rather than quantity which we appreciated.
The hotel has a roof top pool and bar. The pool is on the smaller side, but that was to be expected. Rooftop bar had some very tasty mocktails. On the same floor there is also a gym. It had everything you needed and was also very clean.
They are cleaning / checking up on your room twice a day. With kind of a turn down service in the evening.
All staff we interacted with was very well mannered and professional.
When we checked out and were leaving the hotel we also received a small gift a âVietnamese charmâ. The receptionist and the porter also waved us good bye.
To set the context, we have travelled a lot in Europe, Asia and the US and this hotel by far exceeded our expectations. We have continued our travels in Vietnam and have now also visited Da Nang and Hoi An, this has even more underlined the standard set by La Siesta, the other hotels can not compete.
After our stay here, we decided to rebook our final stop in Vietnam in Hanoi to a La...
