We had a lovely stay over here. Room 502 is super spacious, which was great for our family of 4. We received a very warm welcome and the (I assume) the owner speaks great English. She was very helpful.
Our room was clean (definitely not spot on), but the housekeeping doesn't look under the bed. We saw beer cans, crisps packages and more. I asked the front desk for someone to clean the floor, especially having young children with me. But after that was done, everything was still dirty under the beds. I took a photo to show the manager (I presume) and she was sincerely apologetic straight away. So, this time they cleaned it. But the staff being super friendly makes all up for the room.
Breakfast is very basic, but we didn't mind at all. We appreciated that the front desk staff is cooking your breakfast of choice on the spot.
We rented two motorbikes (150.000 dong each). It's super annoying that the Vietnamese airways give you one completely empty. So, don't fill up your tank completely either. We went into the mountains. If you'd like to do that too, make sure you pick the semi automatic one.
We loved the location as it is at the end of a street and therefore more quiet than in the middle of Sapa. And yet it's a very short walk to the main square.
Even though not perfect, we would...

Read moreI booked a room with mountain view, and all meals. I arrived to be told room wasn't available and I would have to have a city view room. However, as compensation i was given a voucher for a free foot massage downstairs. Went up to my city view room, and it smelt unpleasant and had no wifi. Had a shower and the soap and shampoo dispensers were both empty. Bottles on the sink didn't dispense soap either. I asked to change and was upgraded to a larger room. Nice. Wifi was working, initially, then went off. Room smelled unpleasant. Neither of the rooms was particularly nice, they looked old and very worn. Staff at reception spoke no English so we used Google Translate. There was no dinner provided. I think the management was genuinely trying to help, but incompetent. The hotel is significantly overpriced for what it offers. I paid approximately 800,000 for one night. Half that price would have been fairer. So thankyou for trying to compensate for the problems, appreciated, but it was missed and didn't make up for...
