ORIGINAL REVIEW:
As a Singaporean, decided to try the food back at the end of last year when i was there. nothing was special about the food, and it was terribly expensive. I do not understand where all the good reviews are coming from at all.
We ate the sturgeon hotpot and it was 90% veggies with a small portion of sturgeon. The beef fried rice was the worst I've ever eaten, extremely dry and weirdly crunchy with barely any meat. The kung pao chicken was average at best, but was very expensive for chicken (320k!!) but i blame myself for being too impulsive in ordering that. Pineapple juice was extremely sweet and we couldn't finish it.
All in all we spent VND915000, the most we spent in Sapa by far. For reference, we ate at H'mong and spent half the price for arguably more and definitely better food.
Can't recommend any of the food as a Singaporean.
REPLY TO OWNER:
I am indeed Singaporean as you can see from my other reviews.
Obviously not trying to supposedly "lift" up H'mong as you are implying because they simply have a much better standing than you + their English isn't this good. They were just the other dinner spot we chose in our 2 day stay in Sapa and the quality was so different that I was very disappointed I chose Cirrus as 1 of 2 dinners there.
I'm in no way insulting your customers, merely giving my review of my experience there. Definitely not jealous because what is there to be jealous about.
Treating unfavourable reviews as attacks reflect your arrogance that your food simply can't be bad and insinuating that your customers either love your food or don't exist. "Thanking" me for the feedback and then immediately calling me a fake Singaporean and claiming fake review doesn't make any sense and clearly a placative move. Then finally you say there's no constructive criticism/feedback so which is it? Purely placative, arrogant and manipulative.
Anyone that reads this - please go ahead and order what i ordered and try it for yourself; compare them to my review and see if I'm a fake account. This was about food and actually factual but the arrogance truly takes...
Read moreHonestly? This is probably the best restaurant in the whole of Sapa.
The owner and head chef, Adrian, was warm and enthusiastic with introducing his food to us and even helped us when we needed assistance to communicate with the locals for transport.
But let’s get to the main star: his food. We ordered (well, over ordered!) a variety of dishes, the fried bamboo rice being an absolute show stopper. Crunchy, fragrant and a little nutty, it was great with a dash of Adrian’s homemade fish sauce.
The Korean boiled pork was BRILLIANT. That homemade kimchi was stunning, pairing nicely with the meat that had no gaminess. The vegetables (sorry I forgot what name they were) were stir fried so well with garlic and finished off with the most beautiful fried shrimp (which the chef threw in as an extra Singaporean kick since we were all Singaporeans) giving us that tzechar flavour all the way in Sapa! Fried frog in cereal was also SO GOOD.
Please please order the mapo steamed egg. My god this was so brilliant, with white rice? This was just so good, it was unctuous and delightfully silky, with bits of preserved vegetable and meat glazed over. I cannot recommend this dish enough!
We’re going back to Sapa for another holiday soon and Cirrus has been our designated “must go!” food stop. The food, the location and Adrian definitely makes Cirrus worthy of the title of being the best restaurant in the whole of Sapa.
We’ll be back, Adrian!! Thank you for everything (and the...
Read moreIt’s our 2nd day in Sapa and we were looking for a place to eat. Everything that people suggest online was too crowded, overpriced or over rated. So I tried searching in TikTok and came across one video that led me to Cirrus. And true enough it did not disappoint at all.
First, the food. We had the Salmon Hotpot and the famous Pineapple Beef (forgot the name but it’s in the photos) everything was served fresh, well thought of and generous amount. So generous that we needed to take out the remaining. We were only 2 so ine serving seems to be good for 3 to 4 pax.
Second, service. i would give this a 5/5 because upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted by none other than the chef himself, Chef Adrian. And not only will be greeted but he will explain (in english) every single food on the menu and made sure that you understand the process of how it’s made and what the food is about. Also, he would really suggest what he thinks is best for a 1st timer in Sapa.
Third, atmosphere. The place is clean and spacious but only giving it 4/5 as the place needs to be well lit from the outside like all the other restaurants so tourists gets attracted to dine too.
Overall, great experience and would definitely eat again once we...
