I came in rainy season. So I upgraded to this hotel to make sure I had something to do if I got rained out. This was a great choice.

Room: I had a deluxe king Room 626. It was a corner room, spacious, nice bath. I'd recommend it, though all the deluxe rooms are great. They built the hotel into the side of a mountain. It's hard to get a bad view, unless you’re getting a room labeled that way. The Lobby is actually the top floor. I'm here on off-season. I found it super quiet up here. Bed very comfy. Sheets crisp white. Sapa is in nature, so a lot of people do experience bugs at other hotels. I did not. I think they spray discreetly to minimize that.

SPA: I got rained-in, so thankfully the facilities were great. The hotel has a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. These are SOOO key if you're coming during rainy season. It’s a bit chilly. Also a great perk if you’re doing a lot of activities. Spa is on the lower floor, so you can enter the hotel from there if you’re walking up to the resort.

SERVICE: Really wonderful people! Some of the best ever. During breakfast, the manager comes around and checks to see how things are doing. Sapa in general is not a town with great english skills. His English is quite fluent. I think he just wants to make sure that there were no translation issues that people are experiencing whether at the hotel or in town. Eric (Day Manager) is also quite great. He greets all new guests and also checks in to make sure people are doing ok and don’t need anything. FOOD: It’s a solid breakfast buffet. I like that they have fresh juices (watermelon orange and sometimes passion fruit). The pho was nicely made. I enjoyed the selection of Western and Eastern choices. Since I was intermittent fasting, this was totally awesome to break fast. I had a pretty delicious burger up here as well. The views are beautiful while you eat, both indoor and outdoor. Pricing is reasonable, IMO, but I suppose you can go cheaper down the hill. I had lunch and dinner there which was reasonable IMO for a 5-star hotel. They have a fine dining spot which is really beautifully decorated. I didn’t get a chance to dine in there.

LOCATION: It's not in downtown, which can be a plus or a minus depending on your deal. You can negotiate with people downhill to drive you up. On the very high side it will be 100k vnd. I got a ride from Cat Cat on a motorbike for 50kVND, a ride to SunWorld’s the cable car (funicular was closed down due to mudslide) for 100vnd. I was not using my A-game to negotiate. Likely a bit more effort brings those prices down. Hotel was actually really amazing about their golf cart down the hill. They have set times. However, because it was low season, they did make a couple of exceptions for me. I think in high season, this might be tougher for them to do.

To my Runner/Tri Friends: I know people have mixed feelings about the hill. I personally fell in love with the fact this was up a hill, as I'm trying to get back into running shape. This place would have been my trainer's dream for me, as he is always trying to get me to take the hills better. There's two routes to get up, one is steeper than the other. It's about a 5-10min jog (depending on your pace down). It’s steep enough that you'll need to engage full core and manage the stability muscles (show perfect form) so as not to ride too deep in your hips or blow out your knees. Glutes get you up a hill. Whether you walk or run up, it's a great workout. Plus you've got a bit of altitude in Sapa. The air is great here. If I was training… this would be my spot. You can even borrow a bike from the hotel. It's a leisure bike, so possibly my tri-peeps aren't going to be totally psyched, but they are there. Honestly, because it’s really picturesque it’s the best, most pleasant glute workout I've had in awhile. I wish I was more in shape and was still in Vietnam for the race in 2 weeks. Post-race, you might wanna get a bike up, but man… what a great...

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Disappointing… still trying to resolve issues and it’s been about a month. Will update later on how it goes.

UPDATE:

Manager wrote, “There was also a subsequent request for a trolley to be placed in your room to dry your laundry, which our associate declined.”

I definitely DID NOT request for a trolley. What even is a trolley for laundry? I didn’t know such a thing existed, how could I ask for something I do not know exists?

I asked for hangers and towels that’s it, I was told no as “they are for other guests”. So what am I? Vermin? I we tipped 50,000 for all favors, was that not enough? I did not ask for early check in or late check out. I literally just wanted hangers and towels.

We did get hangers and towels in the end after much back and forth and explaining WHY I wanted hangers and towels. Wow.

I’m a platinum member on agoda and was eligible for a room upgrade. It took us 7 hours by private car. We had to stop as the driver got hungry so we bought him dinner. While getting to the restaurant we got drenched.

During check in we looked tired, drenched but happy. However, we just didn’t look like we belonged there, we were in comfy clothes as it was a long car ride. When I asked about the room upgrade, the staff looked me up and down and I was told “your room is good enough”. I asked if the upgrade was available, she said “yes, however it’s very expensive and your room is good enough.”

We payed a great deal of money to stay at this beautiful hotel only to be met with awful service and misinformation everyday. It was to a point where I was dodging interaction with hotel staff as to not ruin my day.

The manager reached out via WhatsApp then posted that I wanted a trolly?!?!?!? We didn’t talk about that via WhatsApp. I have all the WhatsApp messages and can post receipts. He seemed alot more sincere and understanding over WhatsApp. I feel gaslit, I was asking for hangers and towels. Don’t make it seem like i was asking for the moon. A trolly? Really? What even is that?

No compensation was offered for the worst service ever. Just “I’m so sorry”, “the staff have been retrained”. What an awful experience. Ruined the whole Sapa trip.

I’ve stayed at all the silk paths multiple times with my family (other than this one) and I know the service is impeccable. I literally was choosing between this and a home stay.

If you’re visiting Sapa, choose the home stay. One night at this hotel could cover the entire home stay. Choose anything but this hotel.

I booked this hotel for the customer service. Wasted time trying to talk to the manager, only to be gaslight on Google, what an extremely disappointing experience. Wow.

I’ll never stay at any silk path franchise ever again.

If you want to book this hotel, dress nicely. We packed for comfort to go hiking.

The day staff was better than the night staff. However, this situation was mismanaged from top to bottom. I’m truly appalled by this entire experience. We definitely should’ve just extended the ha long bay cruise and cancel this awful experience. shudder

AWFUL service, gaslit on google by the manager no less. WOW.

I waited a month to try and resolve this privately. I guess that’s not how they do things so….

Please see receipts. They’ll be nice to you then gaslight you on social media. Wow.

What a mean and tactless thing to...

I am so happy I booked with Silk Path for my birthday during the last leg of our Vietnam trip this April 2025. I was already inquiring with them as early as February because they also have Tours that you can book conveniently, which was more affordable than booking with travel agencies. They even called to explain the different tours we can choose from. We booked a simple tour to the Silver Waterfall-Love Waterfall-Heaven’s Gate-Glass Bridge with a lovely Tour Guide and our personal driver which was more than enough for me and my senior parents. They even prepared bottles of water for our day trip.

Check-in was hassle-free. I just gave my passport and they immediately found my booking. To our surprise, they upgraded our room 🥹🫶 which was a HUGE deal because it was a premium upgrade which we did not expect at all! We were also given a quick tour as we were accompanied to our Bungalow.

We visited right before the Summer season began and the flowers were still in full bloom, which made the hotel absolutely stunning and a magical place to stay at.

Breakfast was our favorite and it varied from day to day during our stay. They had a lot of options to choose from: salads, fruits, juices, meat, soup, noodles, pasta, dumplings, bread, pancakes, waffles, croissants, dessert, and different coffee and tea. My personal favorite was asking the chef for eggs in the morning. I also came back several times for their freshly made jams and honey. Their yogurt with black rice is a must try! The manager at their Samu restaurant was very impressive and hands-on. He would make sure the guests were well taken cared of and he visited our table as well to check on our food! We loved dining here.

The pool and gym were well-maintained and clean. They had spacious locker rooms with complete shower amenities. Best believe each time we went out, they CLEANED OUR ROOM. It was always spotless. Our towels were always fresh which was heavenly. You just know that they take care of their guests. A shuttle was also always available to take you to-and-from the Sa Pa Town Center, no need to constantly book a GrabTaxi.

This was my first ever international trip for my birthday and I cannot thank Silk Path enough for making this a memorable experience not only for me but my entire family. Thank you so much Ms. Lala for taking good care of us. Upon meeting you for the first time upon check-in, your warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home. We highly recommend staying at...

Amazing holiday at Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa – heaven on Earth! My holiday at Silk Path Grand Sapa Resort & Spa was a real revelation and an unforgettable experience! This hotel is not just a place to stay, but a real corner of paradise, where every moment is filled with comfort, attention and impeccable service. The hotel itself is a work of art. Situated among picturesque mountains, it offers views that are simply breathtaking. Every morning began with me waking up, enjoying a panorama that is impossible to forget. I have never seen such silence and purity of air anywhere. The feeling that you are in the heart of nature, where even time slows down so that you can enjoy every moment. The hotel staff is a special pride. Professionalism, care and attention to detail are simply amazing. Each employee sincerely strives to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, from simple advice to more complex requests. You can immediately feel that they are truly proud of their hotel and love their work. I can’t help but mention the spa treatments — it was a real relaxation for the body and soul. The massage I received not only relaxed me, but also left me with a feeling of lightness and peace. Everything was impeccable: from the decor and atmosphere to the professionalism of the therapists. You can feel that there is a lot of experience and attention to each client behind this. The hotel grounds are not just a space, they are a whole world that you want to dive into again and again. Walks in the garden, relaxing on the terrace, a cup of coffee with a view of the mountains — all this creates a unique atmosphere of peace and harmony. And, of course, I couldn’t help but mention the hotel’s cuisine — the dishes are always hot, delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered food to our room, and every time it was a real gastronomic delight! It is truly rare when the food in a hotel is so delicious and fresh. Silk Path Grand Sapa is a place where you don’t want to leave. This is a place where you forget about time and worries, and the only thing that matters is to enjoy the moment. I left feeling like I had found my own little corner of peace and tranquility here. This hotel was not just a place to relax for me, but a real inspiration, and I am sure that I will return here again. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for not just a vacation, but a real restoration of spiritual strength and enjoyment of every moment!
