Fantastic vegan restaurant that is tucked away. We had been to the Thong Dong Vegan 1 the night before and the food was so good there that we wanted to try this restaurant today. The food was amazing and maybe even better than the 1 restaurant, although it's pretty close.
Here there is a bit more space in the restaurant and it's location at the end of a garden makes it feel like a secret place and a bit more special.
The food was so good we ordered extra items as we wanted to try and experience all the dishes. Everything was fantastic so I don't think you can go wrong whatever you choose.
They have fresh green coconuts that are very sweet and delicious. The mango smoothies were a big hit and my favourite drink was the lime juice which was very refreshing and fresh.
The staff are super, very attentive and friendly.
They are open from 11am until 3pm then again from 5 until 9:30pm.
If you get directions from Google maps it takes you to Misty's cafe. You need to go into this entrance and follow the signed up the garden path to Thong Dong Vegan 2 around the back.
We are going back today as it was the first thing my children asked after waking up...
Read moreThis is without a doubt, the best restaurant I have ever experienced, both while travelling and in my home country. The food is delicious, the owners and workers are the epitome of kindness, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the dogs and cats are so loved/loving.
I first came for a coffee while feeling quite broken from some bad news back home. I stayed for four hours, sipping in the vibe of Buddhist prayer flags dangling from trees, a cute pug who came and napped beside me, while savouring the best soy latte, yummy fried tofu in vegan garlic butter with famous sa pa rice, warm cacao, then mango smoothie.
I left, four hours later, feeling replenished, physically and spiritually. I came back twice a day with friends during my stay in Sa Pa. They too (some not usually vegan) said the fried tofu is the best food they've had on their travels.
Thank you Thong Dong for your loving kindness. It means more than you...
Read moreWe visited Thong Dong Vegan right after The Mist Sapa. The restaurant has a very chill, homey vibe, just what I wanted. 😊 The weather was nice when we visited, the breeze was cool and there was no need for an electric fan. 😁
The owner is friendly. The service is fast. We ordered four items - the seasonal noodle soup, tofu in tomato sauce, vegetable curry, and vegetable tempura. We LOVED everything! We were sorry we couldn’t finish everything, though, because we were already so full. The servings were huge! 😊
If you’re ever in Sa Pa, you have to visit Thong Dong Vegan, especially if you are vegan! ♥️ Their dishes are a must-try. Would also recommend their partner cafe - The...
