Sunlit Homestay Sapa Travel — Hotel in Sa Pa Ward

We do not recommend you book a stay here.

We checked in, but left shortly after due to room not meeting standards and expectations from photos when booking.

The room was damp, cold, mouldy (room, bathroom, pillows), and the sheets were wet and had very visible stains. This is a similar experience to the another review of the place.

Our room also had one window into the corridor which didn't fully close. We were so dissatisfied with the room that we cancelled our booking. Unfortunately we only got a 50% refund because it was a public holiday in Sa Pa. This policy was not disclosed anywhere when we booked the room (on booking.com), only that we could have a free cancellation at any time. We asked about their cancellation policy but in the ended just decided to leave it, given the boss wasn't there.

Despite all this, the receptionist was kind, and handled the situation respectfully (relaying responses...

ABSOLUTELY A MUST STAY! We were so lucky to find Nini Homestay w/ Chilli (spelling?)! The homestay was so welcoming and Chilli is the best. He made sure our time there was fantastic.

Great wifi - able to take video work calls Good location - a bit uphill, but close to everything you need. And there are shuttles running all around town if you need a quick lift to save your leg strength :) Laundry services provided onsite 🙏 Breakfast and all other meals are great they have great excursions they book for you +Great prices

Tips: bring earplugs - mostly quiet, but also stray dogs and cars hard bed - bed is definitely the hardest ive ever slept on

Overall, highly recommend! Loved our time there and Always felt welcome!

Also, go to the Bahn Mi Breakfast place, 2 minute walk on the road for the best bahn mi sandwich...

Our experience at Nini Homestay was disappointing. When we arrived, no one was there to guide us on where to leave our luggage, despite prior communication. When we finally got an answer, we had to place it in an area with dog poo on the floor, which was also right by the always-open main door, making it feel unsafe.

The rooms have no heating and are extremely damp, with mold covering the walls, pillows, and even dripping from the ceiling. The entire room smelled of mildew, making for an uncomfortable stay. There was also no soap in the bathroom, which felt like an unnecessary oversight.

The staff were friendly, but overall, this was a case of budget travel gone too far. Would not recommend unless major...
