Where do I begin!!! A simply magnificent children's bookshop with an amazing array of titles! So many books packed into a glorious setting. The Narnia door from one room to the next is the most magical experience for children. I saw a young girl push the coats together so that she could walk through the way Lucy did in the movie! It captures your heart even when you are not so young anymore! The young man who serves you really adds to the wonderful experience as well. He is so well informed gentle caring and knows a lot about the books you choose! I find all my precious books I need for school in this one place. It is such a joy to stand, read and find wonderful stories you know will captivate the hearts of children. The little fireplace and chairs in the room through the Narnia cupboard has been so well thought out! I dont know anywhere in Perth where you can really enter another world that is so magical and precious! My recent buys were from the series written by Chris Naylor Ballesteros. Frank and Bert. This is a beautiful space, just what Freo needed. Our fave family bookstore. I’d like to point out the absolute 11/10 customer service of the male employee today (who my older child thought was straight out of cool book, in a complementary way). My young twins, he will remember were a little cranky at 4pm, needing a toilet break and nap, and he handled us so well, never making me feel overwhelmed or flustered, or judged, he helped me choose some funny books for the kids, and sorted it out so effortlessly for us before we left. Great recommendations included. Can’t wait to come back again, we also loved the range of kids cookbooks, choose your adventure/ solve a mystery and spot and search books, but all of the beautiful classics, non fiction and Aboriginal books were appreciated just as much too. What a gorgeous little place this is, it is our FAVOURITE bookshop to visit with the kids, to choose those special reads for birthday's or beautiful gifts for little friends. The owner here ( I think she is the owner) is pure magic, always welcomes us with a smile and knows every book on the shelves. She has given us countless recommendations for our kids and we absolutely adore every one of them, there is nowhere else you can go where the staff know so much about the books, the content, the writing style, the authors and the themes suitable for each age.
