Be cautious 2 things Prices on the shelf.listed for items will be drastically be higher than at the checkout..i cant figure if this is bad mangement or a systematic scam
2..watch your tellers closely in this place..first i got beat out.of about 10 bucks on.my change..girl.put a 10 over a 1 , i saw two notes with 10 and assumed they both were 10s...later got in mu car assumed it was a innocent mistake left it..however 2nd time in the store the teller tried similiar hustle alot of small bills under neath what she pass with a couple 20s on the top out of a hundred i gave her..was shorting me almost 17 dollars.. 3rd time.the teller at checkout tried a different game..counted the monies out and then turned to the cash register and counted another set of funds out , tried to distract.me askimg if i needed a bag, called the guy to get me.a box, hànded me the box she took from.the guy and then after all this time had passed while handing me the box , handed me my purported change....it was smart as i had to put the change in my pocket to.recieve the box which i immediately gave back to the packing boy , pulled out the change she gave me , counted it at the checkout counter, Short almost 13 dollars...i am certain the cashiers their are running scam on clients and it seems alot of them are in on it , when i went out the store with the packimg boy carryimg my box..he said to.me ...I hate it when they try to.do that to people sir..........

Read morePeople are complaining about how expensive this place is. I agree it is. But on the other hand it ensures only a certain caliber of individuals shop here and that is fine by me.
They have a few unique items you can’t get in the Rupert Roberts owned food stores. Which is not an inexpensive store either.
Cashiers are pleasant but everything is always so slow. Every time I cash out there’s a problem. Or with the person in front of me. There’s always something going wrong with the registers. Check out what Rupert Roberts has in his stores as they never act up.
The deli area. I brought a cooked meal twice and won’t again. The rice was cold, didn’t taste fresh, pork chop hard as a rock. The food looks like it tastes amazing but it’s not. The spicy shrimp is delicious though.
The sandwich deli area. There are two light skinned women making sandwiches that likely need customer training. They are obviously from the inner city. That’s not the issue as you can be from there and be as sweet as pie. They answered me fast and blunt. When I asked one another question she said it with a slight attitude. Don’t give me attitude because you see a black man in front of you. I doubt they speak to the whites and Hispanics in that way. I’m keeping an eye on them and if it keeps up I’ll be reporting.
Unfortunately when I’ve tried to call the other day to ask about a product Harbour Bay’s number is always busy! The phone is not working! I called Old Fort and was connected to HB. Then the lady could barely hear because there was so much static on her end. Come on man y’all charge high prices and can’t have a...
Read moreSolomon's fresh market is a nice grocery store with very convenient branch locations. I most commonly visit the Harbor Bay location. The store has a great variety of food products, with a good international food isle and specialty foods based on specific dietary needs. They have good gluten free and dairy free options, even down to the cake mix. It was a pleasant surprise on my last trip. The store also has a deli and a cafe & bakery. They serve great coffee, delicious smoothies (my favorite is the mango), and have a great selection of baked goods.
However, the only thing that makes me give this place 4 stars is that it's much more pricey than your average Bahamian grocery store. I understand that the more organic and specialty products need to be pricier, however often, the same brands of foods I can find in an average Bahamian grocery store is almost double the price in Solomon's. The same brand of fruit that was $8.99 in another store, I found was $14.99 in Solomon's fresh market.
However, for the really great specialty items that I cant find anywhere else. I am thankful that I can still purchase them at Solomon's. They are truly what keep me...
