So the stars dropped because the dining experience seems a bit chaotic at best. I am a handicap driver with appropriate signage on my vehicle. I pulled up and met a staff member going in. I asked if there's specific designated slots. I am told no, and he proceeds inside. No initiative taken action of asking someone else what to do in a scenario like this. I find a close slot across the street in Harbour Bay and walk over.
Once inside, I join my party already seated outside. It's a windy cold day so keeping things on the table is a challenge. First order of items is hot tea.
Hot water is brought out in mugs with wide openings and no cover... Better suited would be a hot water pot so that the water can maintain heat... It's tepid at best.
One member in our party, the teenager asked for the wifi access. She still hasn't gotten it.
It's brunch, so the options are heavy carb...grits, toast, pancakes, waffles.
A member in our party is asking for chicken wings and salad. Wings are available but salads are not during brunch. Limiting said persons options. Rather inflexible.
Food option came out super staggered, 1 person got her order, completed it before second person got their order. Completed it before 3rd person got part one of their order. Multiple people attending to the table and they are either not talking internally or not trained well. When a simple request comes, it seems like a mountain rather than a molehill. i.e. sushi comes out, you have to request chopsticks and then soy sauce.
When the food comes out, it's amazing, well seasoned and hot (where appropriate) but it's called a dining experience for a reason. With people having multiple abilities and no designated parking is one thing. But people having dietary needs, their inflexibility is another thing. People need to know their needs (not wants) can be met in a reasonable way. If you're willing to just go for the food, then good for you It is good. I dine out to enjoy the whole experience. There's work to be done with the connectivity and responsiveness of the staff to enhance the...
Read moreThis experience was awful! My 2nd time here in 2 weeks. We had a 7:30pm reservation for a nice 2 top table inside by the window. They confirmed our reservation at 3pm earlier yesterday. We were there on-time for our reservation, and didn’t get seated until 8:15pm. We didn’t have our food ordered & arrive at our table until 9pm. Drinks came out in about 15 minutes after I requested them finally. I just asked for some Edamame and Tuna Tataki. both should have been easy. I also asked for the not so spicy version of their Edamame, but that didn’t occur either. Our mouths were on-fire! To get water or an appetizer order put in was like pulling teeth from our 2 waiters. This place was busy, but to take this long was ridiculous. Finally about 9:45pm our food arrived. The food finally was there. The sides (mashed potatoes with cheese on top with no flavor-salt) was so hot on the handle that it burned my fingers when I tried to move it. Why didn’t you servers tell us these facts. The mushrooms and creamed Spinach wasn’t that warm…why was one so hot and the other 2 sides just warm? We shared Atlantic Salmon & 16oz Ribeye, which was spilt nicely onto both of our plates, for the surf and turn effect. We were there so late that no desserts were ever offered, and had to ask for the check after we were sitting there until almost 10:35pm…this place is hit or miss. One time it seems great, but there’s always a service interruption or something that makes them less than a 5 star experience, and it always has to do with their staff at every area each time for me there now. You guys must do better…everyone I spoke to about my experience said the very same things to me, but they never write a review of it. And when you are spending $115 per person. It should really be 5 Star quality all around. Also, you can’t hear your background music. It’s too loud in the restaurant. This is something I have created in over 500 restaurants in my hospitality career and you...
Read moreTiny portions, unjustfied pricing and a ridiculous customer service response. Don't dine here.
Ordered the whole Branzino. It arrived at the table and was the smallest branzino I've ever seen.
To put that statement in perspective, I've traveled throughout the Mediterranean and formally was a server in Michelin rated establishments, so when I say it was small, it was indeed a tiny portion.
If I had to make a informed estimate of the size, it was likely no more than 2oz of fish on the plate.
It was a whole fish presentation, so I'm certain the chef will refute and justify their portioning based on the added weight of the head and tail.
When we objected without touching the entree, the server took the plate to management who then spoke with the head chef who I suspect is the GM and possibly the owner.
A long time later, the server returned with the plate and informed us that "It was already cooked, so what I can offer you is to put it in a box for you to take home" Which is absolutely the most ridiculous response to a customer complaint I've ever heard.
I said no and sent it back again.
We observed the server, manager, and head chef/GM confer and waited over 10 minutes for the manager to finally arrive at which point I informed them we were leaving and to give us the check.
The portioning in the restaurant is absurdly cheap, their prices high in comparison, and their rationale when confronted about it not solution based.
We also had the pork belly appetizer, which while decent was nothing more than pork belly on skewers marinated in BBQ sauce. And likewise, a small portion for the price and in especially considering that pork is the absolute most inexpensive protein to source.
Don't bother with this...
