Alas. I don’t deserve the free tacos.

It appears I need to get my glasses checked so next time I don’t miss out on Taco Tuesday. All I wanted was some tacos before my workout. Obviously I am lacking in good judgement but I JUST WANTED tacos. IYKYK

I looked at the regular board and asked about the tacos. 4 for $14 he said. Reasonable. So I ordered 4. While waiting for my tacos I noticed the other sign that said Taco Tuesday: 6 tacos for $14. When I asked, he said that I could have gotten 2 free tacos…if I could fit them in.

Alas, I must not have looked hungry. I was also sadly lacking in observation skills as I didn’t see that super sign deal in plain sight. Or maybe it was a different kind of Tuesday. Anyway, I was handed my 4 tacos and departed, stunned at my own lack of … time. I didn’t want to wait for them to cook more and, well, it wasn’t offered. Besides, the whole thing was my fault.

Alas.

*Also my order was wrong but at this point I probably deserved that. I’ll explore...

I've been to loz takos plenty of times. Usually they are somewhere in the middle not too awful but not great by any means. I got 6 tacos yesterday the tortillas were soggy. Not soft but soggy it was disgusting. I got 4 carnitas tacos 1 chicken and 1 Baja fish. I couldn't even taste the fish all I could taste was the grease from the fryer. When we asked for 2 of every sauce (which would be 6 sauces) we were laughed at. It's not my fault your sauces come in a container the size of a half thimble. The rest of the tacos were barely even filled with any meat. And last but not least the horchata tasted like old milk like the container isn't getting cleaned properly. All in all I don't think I will be returning. I highly recommend Si Senor on Shaughnessy in Poco. Or if you want to make the trip Lupitas in maple ridge is miiiiles better...

This place caught my eye just as I walked in the mall. After shopping and looking for lunch, I still gravitated towards it at the end.

Good thing I did! Because the staff, Fernando, was very kind. Before I even told him it's my first time there, he was very through in explaining the menu and inquiring what I wanted.

When I told him it was my first time at this restaurant, he gave me a mini tour of the menu. The best part is, he didn't recommend the expensive choices, but the authentic items.

He also recommended different varieties of meat (I couldn't understand the language so I just chose them all 😂).

We chatted about our home countries, and had small talk. I not only enjoyed our conversation, but the food. The tacos were so delicate, and very fresh.

100% I will be coming back! You...

When venturing into the bustling realm of food courts, one typically does not anticipate culinary masterpieces, and our recent dining experience certainly did not defy this expectation. That being said, our meal straddled the line between mediocrity and adequacy. In this arena of fast-casual fare, the absence of delicacies such as carnitas that day may raise an eyebrow, but it's hardly a deal-breaker when searching for sustenance. As we navigated the seemingly endless array of optional add-ons, we couldn't help but notice the rising price tag that accompanied our meal. This gastronomical journey was slowly evolving into an expedition into the financial unknown. Yet, when all was said and done, our plates were graced with a meal that could be described as nothing less than... decent.

I have never shared a negative review before but I had a gift card and used it to get a shrimp quesadilla, I attached images below, the whole quesdilla has a little over 2 shrimps with some cheese, super disappointed. Edit/reply to the owner: Definitely add more shrimp as to reflect the price, some veggies like lettuce or corn and sauce. But most of all, looking at your response to me and others, when a customer tells you something you don’t like, respond with ‘I’ language only and show commitment towards improving. If you can’t serve good food then at least a good attitude could keep people coming, can’t be terrible at both. And it’s ‘were you’ not ‘where you’ :)
