I have come here numerous times and every time I have been treated so well. The baristas are sweet and orderly. One of the guys that works here, I forgot his name, always knows my order and brings it right to my table. Coffee shop intimacy is a must for me. I especially love the fact that they don't hover over your table to tell you they're closing every minute, an hour before closing. I can't speak for all Waves locations, but this one in Coquitlam has a very welcoming and positive vibe.
Also, the location is nice because they have free parking and its close to the mall and other residential areas if you're driving.
As for the coffee, its good, better than other chain coffee shops for sure. I usually just get the Canadiano (which is just a nationalistic Americano) and its really well done. However, once in a while I'll order a latte and I love that Waves offer forms of "milk" like coconut milk, soy milk, almond milk, low fat etc. I will be honest, I don't do fancy coffee drinks because I actually love the taste of coffee in and of itself. But Ill tell you this, if a coffee shop can do basic coffee right, then they usually do everything else...

I came here to celebrate my friends birthday (Donna hong) and turns out they are a wee bit Jewish when it comes to portioning out the liquid coffee, (I'm Jewish so don't even try me) Despicable customer service here at the Coquitlam location. I had paid for a large size for here and they proceed to give me the regular even after asking them for the larger cup. Rude and disrespectful especially considering the Christmas season. The manager racially profiled me because I am Jewish is what I can only assume. I feel like a classic shmuck for ever coming and spending my hard earned pennies here. Ps the coffee was undercooked and had a earthy dirt like texture when swallowing, I fear I...
Read moreI made an order and it was just a mistake unknowingly what type of coffees they have as it’s our first time ordering from waves. So i chose the wrong order, therefore I asked politely if we can exchange it to the coffee that we really wanted but the barista just gave us a cold answer and said “no, once the order has been made, we can’t change it anymore”. (In a frustrated way) I understand the policy but honestly, i don’t see anything wrong on making a new coffee for a first time customer when it was just a mistake or with a nicer toned of voice will have the chance for us to come back but in disappointment. Please re-train your staff the proper customer service and your business...
