Unfortunately, New York fries failed to meet my expectations. My wife wanted to take advantage of an offer made to BCAA members to get a free hot dog today. We went to the Coquitlam Centre food court and stood patiently in a long line together with many other people with the same expectations. When our turn came, we were told that the hot dogs were not ready, and we could have small fries instead. If we wanted hot dogs we would have to get back into line. We had in fact intended to buy fries with the free hot dogs. However, as my wife explained to Patrick who told us this sorry tale, we wanted to eat the hot dogs with fries, not eat the fries and then have the hot dogs 10 or 15 minutes later. Really! Is it an unrealistic expectation that when a business promises you something, they deliver what they promised?Or that they would ensure that they had enough resources in place to serve the many hot dogs that were sitting there in front of us? P.S. Please don't apologize and offer me a "freebie" in return. We went home and made hot dogs which we were able to eat, with homemade humus. I doubt that we, or the many other people standing in line will be returning. Thank you though to New York fries for helping me to meet my goal of walking 6,000...
Read moreI wanted to share my recent unpleasant experience with NYF at Coquitlam Centre. I took my son to NYF on Friday Sep. 30 around noon. My son is a great fan of NYF and we ordered a large Bacon & Double cheese. the cashier was not very welcoming when we ordered. I can see he seemed to be stressed I guess due to the busy hour. we didn't wait for long and he placed ordered for us and I paid via credit card. while we were waiting for the order I realized that I forgot to have him scan my NYF society code to collect points so I asked him and showed him the code on my cell. He looked very mad and said he had to cancel the order and start all over. He was so intimidating that I had to say OK forget about it then. he didn't say anything. My son was surprised as well and I tried to explain that the guy must be stressed from work and nothing personal. I can understand the work stress but I think it's very unprofessional to take it out on customers. in a food court, you only serve one customer for one or two minutes - it's probably only one of your many minutes dealing with NYF customers, but for each customer that's her/his whole (maybe only) experience...
Read moreI had ordered a large Bacon Double Cheese and when I received it, the portion size was like a regular in a large box. That is absolutely ridiculous! This location horrible compared to the Metrotown location. The Metrotown location has good service and friendly staff unlike the Coquitlam Centre location. The staff here are rude and they don’t even bother prioritizing your order, instead they choose to make you wait extra time so they can finish their conversation. The staff were also using this cleaning solution way too close to the fries and ingredients which cannot be a good look for this location. I have always loved New York Fries but my first time trying it at the Coquitlam Centre location was disappointing. For those who want to eat at this location, don’t get your hopes high and expect small portion sizes, unfriendly staff, and...
