My family and I visited this location this past week. I would highly discourage anyone from going to this location.

The location is beside a restaurant with a wood burning oven, the oven vents right out towards the store and also where you need to line up to order ice cream. The air was extremely smoky, so thick it gets caught in your throat and you can visibly see the smoke surrounding the people waiting in line.

The smoke also greatly accumulated inside of the store. This is a health hazard, especially for the individuals working there, and not worth waiting half an hour in line, just to order ice cream.

I spoke to the staff. They were extremely helpful and pleasant and they agreed with me that it is quite Smokey and is a problem. Management needs to look into this and the workers, health and well-being needs to be taken into account.

We ended up not ordering ice cream here and walking down the boardwalk a little further to another location. I hope this problem with the air quality gets rectified, mostly for the sake of those...

I like this shop! And this shop is the best to me amongst all other COWS shop I have visited.

We ordered two different flavors (gooey mooey and nanaimoo bar) and they were so yummy! I would definitely order more if my tummy can fit more.

We then tried other COWS shop like the one in Quebec City. The ice cream definitely tasted different to us. The one sold at this sold had the right texture and consistency and had so many different flavors. I would say the flavors they offered were quite complete, except that they did not have one flavor my husband wanted to try so badly - double chocolate cheesecake.

We wish one day, we will have a chance to try the double chocolate cheesecake flavor ice cream as many COWS did not have it.

I also felt surprised to see that there were so many merchandises in the shop. This excited me and I got one of the best fridge magnets from this...

When I visited Halifax a few months ago, one of the sweetest surprises was stumbling into COWS Ice Cream, and wow, it’s so much more than just a scoop shop. From the moment you walk in, the playful decor and quirky cow-themed merchandise set the tone for a fun, memorable experience.

The ice cream itself? Absolutely top-tier. I tried the bubble gum flavour (a nostalgic favourite from childhood) and the coffee one, both rich, creamy, and packed with flavour. Portion sizes were generous, and the staff were genuinely warm and helpful, offering great suggestions if you're indecisive.

The shop has a unique vibe, bright, whimsical, and unlike your typical ice cream store. Prices felt fair for the quality and experience. If you're in Halifax and craving something sweet, COWS is...
