Made reservations for 6 people - table was set up & ready when we got there. One downside was, I booked here because we checked the menu online & my sister wanted the seafood linguine that was advertised for $20. She was very disappointed when it was No longer on the menu! She settled for steak. Others ordered pan-fried haddock, fish & chips, chowder but I think I ordered the best meal of all! I had the lobster & shrimp crepes … Mmmm .. Delicious!!! Waitress was very friendly. There was entertainment but it started at 8pm & we left before that. Another downside, we brought in a birthday cake for someone in our party (purchased at Sobeys). We asked for a knife to cut it & were told because of Heath relations the waitress wasn’t sure if we could serve it to ourselves. She checked & a guy came out & said something similar about not being able to because of health inspector. Then as long as we could prove it was bought somewhere - then all of a sudden it would be ok for us to enjoy it but there would be a $2 / person plate charge. I guess the health inspector would be ok with us eating our cake as long as it was on the restaurants plate! We took our cake back to our hotel & enjoyed it...

My first time here. Service was incredibly slow even though my friend and I arrived between lunch and dinner, so there was barely anyone there.

I ordered Shepards Pie and it was the worst version I've ever had. They overwhelmed it with bottled thyme, so it was the primary flavour. Because it wasn't fresh, I felt like I was biting into tough pine needles. I started picking through my meal to pick them out. My friend ordered a wrap but couldn't finish it because it tasted off. Neither of us are picky eaters.

My meal came with a side. I didn't want a side but since I was paying for it, I asked the waiter which sides counted. He said any side. I made sure to circle around the sides, ask "so any of these", he replied "yes", I chose. Come bill time, I was charged $4 extra for my side I didn't want in the first place and he refused to refund me. Turns out, their included sides and ones they want to charge you extra for are mixed together instead of separate, and my waiter chose not to inform me of that before nor after I chose. Small problem, it happens, I just paid and remained polite but add the two disgusting meals and slow service equals never...

Watch out if you chose to eat here! A while back, waitress tried to steal my phone... Had to track it on my laptop, make a scene & call the cops before it "miraculously" appeared in the downstairs women's bathroom. Manager got "aggressive" and asked me if "we good" after I got it back. Reached out to management to let them know what was going on at their restaurant but they are obviously not concerned about staff stealing from customers 👎 The fishcakes are alright...

EDIT: The owner Brendan Dorothy's reply below is exactly how they chose to deal with it. The owner never replied to my original email when I reached out to let them know a member of their staff stole from us, and is simply making assumptions as you can see from the reply. If you wanted more info about the situation you could have replied to my email. So, here we are... It's your restaurant dude, do what you wish with the info 😉 It's been years and I've told this story now to hundreds of people. Hope your ego...

Brought my kids (4 and 1) here on a Monday afternoon and they were extremely well behaved (like, way better than the norm - and they do well in restaurants, generally speaking). After eating quietly for 30 minutes, one of them let out a very short shriek. Nothing crazy, but a kid yell. This bar manager, a guy wearing a red shirt, gave me a profoundly dirty look as if we were disgusting to him. I may be mistaken, but I think I then overheard him talking to staff about how they’re not a family restaurant or something with the same sentiment. Our actual server was phenomenal and the food and vibe was great otherwise. Advice to management: Talk to this jerk and set him straight, or do away with the kids menus and high chairs and just say “sorry, but our managers hate kids” instead of encouraging us to come in. Your staff doesn’t need to act like it’s Disney, but they can’t snarl while making eye contact with parents.

I haven't been to Ireland, but if to believe the movies, it looks like it :) But seriously, there is a very pleasant authentic atmosphere here. Sometimes there is live music here too. Friendly employees. It's noisy, but that's normal for a place like this, so it's not a criticism, but just a warning for people who plan to visit a pub. Any pub truly. We ordered a small set of beers(Beer Flight) for my wife and Blue Label Johnnie Walker for me. And for an appetizer, we took their nachos. The beer was not bad (2 were tasty, 1 was average, 1 we didn't really like). The whiskey lived up to many of the reviews about it: tasty, but not so much as to justify its price, so yes, the "blue label" is just a hyped-up color in their line. I liked the nachos. They were a little spicy, but as a person who doesn't like spicy food (specifically spicy, not slightly spicy), I can say that I liked it.
