Smashing IT! Nestled in the Historical St. Lawrence Market this is my favorite of all favorite places to get some amazing and quality produce and fruits. There's something very special about this place, perhaps it's the family run business that cares so much about the quality of their goods, perhaps it's just they're overall nice people who work hard and care about the products they put on display. Or perhaps it's all of the above! I would have to rank Phil's Place as being the top 10 places to get the best quality produce and fruits. Excellent prices as well.

I absolutely loved this place! In addition to fresh and healthy produce, they are well a few maple syrup products and items for gifting. What I was most excited about was the homemade popsicles of varying flavors and the fresh kimchi! I chose the dragon fruit strawberry combo but there were flavors like Kiwi, lemon, strawberry, etc... They also had GREEN ONION kimchi, radish and carrot kimchi. I was unable to be green onion kimchi while in Korea so this was a nice treat. It smells great, slightly sour, fragrant because it's green onion, and salty.

Nice place located on the lower level of St Lawrence Market. I find its one of the cheaper produce stores compared to other in the building if you are trying to save cash. We have eaten the food and it has a fresh taste so we don't think quality is lost with lower price. We will go here again for our weekly Saturday trips.

I was originally very excited to go to Phil's place. I had seen it on TikTok, and as a chef, I know the importance of purchasing fresh, quality produce. The produce looked amazing, but the service was terrible. I had found some beautiful looking figs, and I had asked the older woman where they were from. She didn't know. A little bit strange but okay, maybe she just wasn't aware. So I started grabbing a few to find a few ripe ones when she absolutely snapped at me. It would have been one thing if she had asked me not to touch them, or at least talked to me normally. I was really excited finding this place, and planned to be a regular customer, but if this is how Phil's place does business, I won't be returning. And I highly recommend that you don't either.

Update: Phil's place has reached out to me again, apologizing for the lack of professionalism and the experience I went through last time. I really did like the ambience and the produce, I was just appalled by the customer service. Will be asking for Rachel specifically next time I go in. Will update once I have the time to...

Amazing produce!! Something you don’t find unfortunately in your average big box store. They also carry what’s in season and stuff I’ve never even seen before. Staff is well knowledgeable and I can see that they put care and pride into their craft. As for the bitter guy below, dude you’re on some next level negativity. It isn’t St. Lawrence Markets fault for increases on rent. And so what if you need to pay a dollar extra or two for produce? They don’t push insane quantities like Loblaws, you ignoramous. If you don’t want to, go to NoFrills and buy the B...
