Checked was a nice hotel at a great price and it is located near a lot of restaurants. There was just one huge problem, bed bugs! Slept the first night there and everythong seemed fine went out and noticed a bump on my elbow I had been wearing bug repellent that had worked perfectly in Cartegna where there a ton of mosquitos. I though maybe it was something else and didn't think anything of it. Throughout the day more and more bumps began to appear on my arms my legs my back and i began to freak out. I thought they were hives because some of the places they have appeared had been covered all day. I bought some allergy medication and hoped that would help. Slept a second night woke up with a couple more bumps the next day, they looked like hige welts on my body. They didnt seem to be getting any better so I researched to see what it could be. Then my girlfriend noticed a number of small bites on her not nearly as big as mine. We saw something that said it could be bed bugs so we looked in the bed and saw the signs which were black dots which is their feces and small blood spots then we saw one crawling on the mattress we took a video immediately and went straight to the front desk and he seemed very worried and freaked out. There never seems to be a manager there so he had to call and figure out what to do. I took pictures of all my welt sized bites all ovwr my body that kept appearing. I counted a total of 37 bites. They offered and began to was all of our clothes and then said they would show us another room, which for me wasn't really an option but we loomed anyway. We checked the mattress first when we went in again we saw the warning signs of bed bigs blaco spots and a blood spot. Then the front desk employee pulled the bed out and we found a dead bed bug on the floor he used a piece of paper to pick it up and throw it away. He said this was the first time that this happened and he did not know there was bed bugs in the second room. So not only one room was infected but 2 rooms had it. He was noce enough to wash out clothes for us but we immediately grabbed everything wet clothes and all and everything and left. They didnt really seemed to be worried and if 2 rooms were infected there could be more. We found another hotel but wasted an entire night doung this. The next day we had to wash all our clothes again and get trash bags so we did not bring it back home. I even left my suitcase and left with mu clothes in bags. I had to buy new clothes and buy a new suitcase which completely ruined my last day here. It was ashame because this is a beautiful city with a lot to do but it ended my vacation on a terrible note. I can not recomentd this hotel to anyone because I would not want anyones vacation to be ruines like mine did. Please be careful and always check your mattress...
Read moreHotel without any particular character, it has an uncomfortable location in a residential area not close to bars and restaurants. Or better the distance is not great, 10-15 minutes on foot but the hotel itself recommends not to walk alone in the area, especially when it’s dark. Therefore it’s necessary to use a taxi. The room was average with ugly furniture, no complimentary water. Very few outlets, if you want to charge something you have to unplug either the tv or a lamp or both. There was a safe but unluckily I’m not tall enough to reach it… The bathroom was small but with a large shower with hot water and liquid soap dispenser. On the contrary for the wash basin there was a small soap that broke in pieces as soon as you touched it. Breakfast is good and you can choose to have, beside fruit and juice, eggs or granola with yogurt, or pancakes or sandwiches. No lift and I haven’t seen rooms on the ground floor, I’m not sure it’s suitable for people with motility problems. Wifi is good. The staff is kind but you have to ask to clean the room if you want...
Read moreThe reception at this hotel is supposed to be open 24 hours. However, when I arrived around 10 pm, the receptionist was not at his desk. Despite ringing the bell five times, no one responded. I then knocked on the door, expecting to be welcomed or assisted. Instead, the receptionist threatened me, saying he would call the police if I knocked again.
Later, around 11 pm, the same staff member came to my room and demanded that I sign some paperwork. The documents were in Spanish, and I informed him that I couldn't understand the language. Despite this, he insisted, saying I had to either sign the papers or leave immediately.
I have traveled to 37 countries, and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel or hostel. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Avoid it...
