Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows and St. Crosses — Local services in okres Český Krumlov

Barokní poutní areál na Křížové hoře byl vystavěn v nadmořské výšce 619 metrů jihovýchodně od města, takže je z mnoha míst centra dobře viditelný. Středobodem je osmiboká kaple z roku 1710, kterou obklopuje kruhový trávník a osmiboký ambit s arkádami. Ten byl dostavěn mezi lety 1715-1720. Místo má za sebou bohatou historii, která překračuje možnosti této krátké recenze. Na webu je spousta informací, především však doporučuji místo osobně navštívit. Měl jsem to štěstí, že přesně v době, kdy jsem se k vrcholu kopce blížil, spolu se mnou stoupal po svahu i zdejší pan správce (jak se ukázalo později) se kterým jsme se v ambitu dali do řeči, načež mi představil i druhého člověka, díky kterému celý zdejší komplex dnes zdárně funguje - tím je milá a ochotná paní, jež mě dokonce celým areálem provedla a zasvětila mě do detailů historie i jednotlivých míst a objektů. Rád bych tímto oběma poděkoval, nejen za zajímavý zážitek, ale i za inspiraci pro další vyhledávání detailů o tomto pozoruhodném místě.

The Baroque pilgrimage site on Křížová hill was built at an altitude of 619 meters southeast of the city, so it is clearly visible from many places in the center of Český Krumlov. The centerpiece is an octagonal chapel from 1710, which is surrounded by a circular lawn and an octagonal cloister with arcades. It was completed between 1715-1720. The place has a rich history that goes beyond the scope of this short review. There is a lot of information on the web, but above all I recommend visiting the place in person. I was lucky that just at the time when I was approaching the top of the hill, the local administrator (as I found out later) was also climbing the slope with me, with whom we spoke when reaching the cloister. He then introduced me to another person, thanks to whom the whole local complex exists successfully today - that is a kind lady who even guided me through the whole area and introduced me to the details of history and individual places and objects. Could be a nice place, unfortunately an old man was very strongly pointing towards a sign asking for an entrance fee - a sign that was hidden when you enter and is only shown when you walk out. Prepare cash there is a small admission to see inside! It looked like a lot of pictures and history but we didn't have cash so we couldn't not see around inside. The path up is a nice pathway on a steep hill so comfortable shoes are recommended. The view is great to look...
