Museum Fotoatelier Seidel — Attraction in okres Český Krumlov

When visiting the museum you get an audio guide which helps you get a good glimpse into a different time ~100 years, the work intensive photographing process and the life of a family. Food for thought and a wonderful house. Cannot recommend the Krumlov Card highly enough if you stay in the city for several days; this interesting museum is included and worth visiting.

With regards to the photo studio session in historical dress, my Mum and I did that as well and pre-booked a timeslot via email. The photographing team put in a lot of effort, were competent and the dresses and accessories were lovely. The only downside was that we're awkward around the camera (not photogenic) and the abrupt manners of the photographer and somewhat of a language barrier did nothing to help us feel at ease or natural, which shows in the photos. We read other reviews and visited because it was a museum not to be missed if in Cesky Krumlov. I am so glad we did. It was very interesting. It is very well presented and really does give an insight into photography. Having paid at the first house and collecting a headset in our language, we entered the main house. Each room was numbered, and selecting that number on the headset gave you an account of what was in the room. Wonderfully restored home, with the original photo studio still booking sessions and the multilingual audio guide available for visitors made this visit a lovely attraction! Truly, the restoration of this space is impressive, and getting to learn more about the early photography in the region as well as its historical importance makes this a worthy stop during your time in Cesky Krumlov. Interesting to see how the business was run out of the home as well.
