We stopped at Café des Ducs for a simple coffee and a fresh lemon juice. We ordered 1 cappuccino and 1 citron pressé, and politely asked for some water.

The waiter brought: • A half-filled glass of lemon juice. • A bottle of Vittel water, which he poured into the glass without asking, saying it was “part of the juice”. • Another bottle with tap water.

We assumed the bottled water was just part of the drink preparation, or at worst complimentary.

At the end, the bill included: • €6.00 for the lemon juice (which was half-full), • €5.20 for the cappuccino (fair), • And €4.50 for the Vittel, which we never asked for.

When we questioned the charge, the waiter just shrugged and said: “Well, you asked for water.”

This is nothing short of a scam. No warning, no courtesy, and no apology. One of the worst tourist experiences we’ve had in France.

📌 Avoid this place. They charge whatever they want and pretend it’s normal....

We visited Café des Ducs at 8 PM for some drinks and a relaxing evening, and it exceeded all our expectations! We tried a variety of options, including the Tutti Fruity, Café Allongé, chocolat chaud, and a fruit salad. Everything was absolutely delicious—the flavors were fresh, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented.

The service was impressively fast and attentive, adding to the warm and inviting atmosphere of the café. With great prices and a lovely ambiance, Café des Ducs is the perfect spot for anyone visiting Annecy. Highly recommended for a...

Worst place. Disappointed with two girls who worked there today. While we sat down 1 waitress saw us and went inside. And came back little late . But looked at stoned and looked away intentionally. Another waitress came and I ask if we can get a menu. She just pointed us a board on the wall that’s in French. Anyhow I tried to translate and thought of ordering something. But had a second thought, why would I give business to such people with attitude 😒 went to the place...

We decided to have some after-dinner drinks, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The cocktails turned out to be the worst any of us had ever tried. They were so unappealing that none of us could even finish our drinks. However, it's worth mentioning that the staff were friendly and attentive, and the nighttime atmosphere by the water was quite pleasant. If you do visit Café des Ducs, I would recommend skipping the cocktails and ordering something bottled.
