We stopped at Café des Ducs for a simple coffee and a fresh lemon juice. We ordered 1 cappuccino and 1 citron pressé, and politely asked for some water.
The waiter brought: • A half-filled glass of lemon juice. • A bottle of Vittel water, which he poured into the glass without asking, saying it was “part of the juice”. • Another bottle with tap water.
We assumed the bottled water was just part of the drink preparation, or at worst complimentary.
At the end, the bill included: • €6.00 for the lemon juice (which was half-full), • €5.20 for the cappuccino (fair), • And €4.50 for the Vittel, which we never asked for.
When we questioned the charge, the waiter just shrugged and said: “Well, you asked for water.”
This is nothing short of a scam. No warning, no courtesy, and no apology. One of the worst tourist experiences we’ve had in France.
📌 Avoid this place. They charge whatever they want and pretend it’s normal....

Anyhow I tried to translate and thought of ordering something. But had a second thought, why would I give business to such people with attitude 😒 went to the place...
