This bakery is a bit on the high end, so I will hold them to higher standards. I tried three things
The mango saffron orange cake: I am a huge mango fan, so I was excited to try this new product. Sadly, the mango flavour was not strong at all. And the mango slices were very thin. At 8 euros a piece, I expected better. However, the flavour combination was unique. The flavour of saffron was a bit overpowering and still lingered in my mouth for hours after eating. 6.5/10
Pain au chocolat (2 euro): I got the last one in the display window. Not very fresh. Not enough chocolate inside. It was basically a croissant with a bit of chocolate inside. I don't have a sweet tooth, but this pastry was underseasonned and not crispy enough in many places. 6/10
Chocolate Brioche (3.5 euro): The broiche was nice and soft. Not dry. But again, not sweet enough. It seems to be a common problem with their viennoiserie. 7/10
Conclusion: I'm not too impressed with their products for the price, and it would take quite a while for me to consider...
Read moreStumbled upon this patisserie shop, Brigat. Not really on our list of must try in Paris, and we even plan to buy their croissant only. But while we came inside, everything looks so interesting. We can't help it to buy others. Their best for me is the chocolate look like a tree cake. Forgot their name, but it's very delicious, the chocolate outside is a combination of dark and milk , and the mousse inside is so smooth, in the middle like has this fillings which similar taste like fruity taste, just a hint so it doesn't overpower the chocolate, but enough to create a complex taste from a chocolate based patisserie. This is something I have not try from my home country. The rest is just fine. The tiramisu actually very sweet and hardly could taste the coffee. The lemon tart is very sour for me, especially on first bite, but the aftertaste is deliciously sweet and fresh. On the other hand, their croissant look so delicious and flaky, but because we ate it cold kinda not...
Read moreAlthough even the worst patisserie in Paris is better than even the best bakery in America, Brigat' stands above even the really top notch patisseries in Paris. The baguette is crispy on the outside, while being chewy and flavorful on the interior. The croissant is so buttery and flaky, it almost made me weep. Their almond croissant has a glaze on top, making it a bit crunchier on the outside than other ones I've eaten, but it was so flavorful and moist, yet not too sweet. Had a few of their desserts, including a yuzu filling dessert, which had at least 4 layers. It has so many different flavors which popped at different times, my mouth was just blown away. I think about the one note desserts that I have eaten most of my life, which typically is over the top sweet or chocolate, and this thing was like a whole new species had just been discovered for my taste buds. A little sweetness, a little citrus, a nutty layer, some kind of cream layer, with a hint of...
