We met Fanny a year ago from another cooking establishment. We had a fun time in her pastry class. At the end of that class we found out she teaches on her own. So I asked for her Instagram account under La Petite Main Gourmande. We returned to Paris this year and wanted to make it a point of taking more pastry classes but specifically with Fanny. So we signed up for two classes with her, croissants, and macaroons. Fanny is a fun and informative instructor. We were really hands on in both classes. Her recipe for the croissants is much easier than where we had met her. I feel that we can actually bake these croissants and macaroons successfully. She took the time to demonstrate each step, then having us duplicate those steps so we were not watching a demonstration but actually rolling and shaping the dough. She was really great at sharing tips on techniques. She was very approachable and personable. There were no dumb questions and if she saw you struggling with a step she would have us slow down and she would show us the technique until we got it. We also learned a little bit about the French culture. It was a win, win experience. I would return to Fanny for future...
Read moreI planned a school trip to Paris for a group of 11 year olds. I decided a baking class would be fun for them and Fanny did not fail to deliver. We arrived hot and exhausted and straight away she got all the kids excited and fully engaged with the activity. We baked macaroons and the kids, and adults loved every minute of it. Fanny speaks perfect English too which was an added bonus. Fanny was accommodating too when I was booking as I had to change the timings and group size a couple of times, however she worked around my hectic schedule and made the whole booking process easy. I would highly recommend joining one of her classes or if like me you need a group activity then I can assure you it will be a highlight of your trip to Paris. I am already planning the school trip for next year and will be booking with...
Read moreI took a vienoisserie virtual class with Fanny of La Petite Main Gourmande after taking an in-person class with her in Paris two years ago. She is so knowledgeable and takes her time to make sure you have all the steps managed before moving on to the next. In the virtual class, she taught me her own 3-hour method to making croissants and pains au chocolat. I'd always spent two full days making them, so to learn such an efficient and simple method was great! We had a great time chatting between steps, and she gave me helpful tips, shared some history, and we got to know each other a bit, as well. The pastries that came out of the oven were absolutely delicious - so buttery, flaky, and the layers were perfection. I highly recommend taking a class with La Petite...
