Is the most beautiful bookstore I have visited. The old smell in the Librarie reminded me of the library at my boarding school which I went many years ago. The shop was opened in 1826 and passed down from the owner’s grandfather to his father and to him. We asked him if he has any book in chess and right away he showed us the one and only book he has on chess. It was a beautiful vintage book. The owner knows every book he has in the Librarie, his brain is like a computer!! I was able to find a beautiful vintage map and a few other precious items in his beautiful shop. Famous French artists and writers such as Jean Cocteau and Colette are said to have been frequent visitors to this gorgeous bookshop. Every nook and cranny seems to be packed with books, and you are just enveloped in that delicious old book smell (think subtle vanilla). You'll find some very special gems; I'm now the very delighted owner of a 1st edition limited print of Jean Cocteau's collection of poetry titled "Opera". The owner is very nice and patient, he let me browse to my heart's content and took the time to tell me about my purchase too. Of course I had to get a tote bag as well! Ce "libraire" (les guillemets s'imposent) m'a vendu un livre décrit comme "neuf" via une plate-forme Internet : or, je l'ai reçu avec la tranche toute couverte de rousseurs [photos à venir]. Outre le fait que je vais prendre attache avec le service client de ladite plate-forme, ce prétendu libraire ne trouve rien de mieux comme compromis que me répondre "vous pourrez payer par vous-même les frais de retour car je conteste votre appréciation." alors que ceux-ci s'élèvent à près de la moitié de la valeur du livre, d'autant qu'il faudra que je l'envoie en recommandé avec A/R (vu sa mauvaise foi, il serait capable d'affirmer qu'il n'a pas reçu mon retour).

Je constate hélas que je ne suis pas le premier à émettre un avis peu enthousiaste et que cet individu use avec sarcasme et mépris de son droit de réponse au lieu de s'excuser platement. S'il me fait le tour, je n'hésiterai pas à le dénoncer à la DGCCRF du département 75.

J'ai lu le droit de réponse de ce commerçant, et je m'étonne encore davantage que celui-ci m'ait prétendument vendu un livre "neuf" [je joins dans les prochains jours une capture d'écran], puisqu'il reconnaît lui-même ne pas en vendre. Escroquerie et mauvaise foi, donc.
