Timhotel Palais Royal as expected with excellent staff The best thing about this hotel is its great location and wonderful staff. I am writing to you based on the experience of my 4-night stay in this hotel. On the day of entering the hotel after 3 P.M, we were met with a warm welcome by the hotel staff and the check-in was done in less than a few minutes. After we went to the room, we noticed that the room was not ready. We told the front office and they immediately replaced us with another room on the 7th floor. Our room on the seventh floor had a window to the backyard and was also next to the hotel elevator. The presence of the air conditioning system in the backyard and the sound of the elevator made us not have a good night. In the morning, we conveyed the issue to the lady at the front desk, and she immediately replaced us with another room and managed everything for us quickly. (She was truly a unique, competent, compassionate, and kind employee) Our third room was on the sixth floor with a view facing the street, which was much better. The design of the rooms and the facilities inside the rooms were acceptable and the internet access was excellent with stable speed and quality in all parts of the hotel. But the thing that should be considered in this hotel is the thinness of the wall between the rooms, so you can barely hear the voices of other guests talking in their rooms. Also, the sound of the doors closing in the rooms is very liberating. In my opinion, all hotel guests can't be so inconsiderate as to close the room door with a lot of noise. There may have been a technical glitch. Of course, there was no problem in our room. Considering that we left the hotel in the morning after breakfast and returned at night and were not in the hotel during the day, these issues were not very important to us. Regarding the first breakfast, I must thank the lady who was in charge of this department, because everything was clean, tidy and perfect. The charging of materials was done quickly and she was truly unique. The breakfast menu of this hotel was acceptable in my opinion. Maybe in terms of the amount, you thought it was small, but in reality, whatever you used up, was charged immediately. So everything was enough. 2 to 3 types of hot and cold sausages, boiled eggs, and omelets. Three models of cold drinks and tea, coffee, and... All kinds of jam, chocolate, bread, croissants and... In my opinion, considering the level of the hotel, the breakfast was acceptable. The most important issue that is evident in this hotel and was very important to me is that your comfort and well-being are important to the management and employees of the hotel to the extent of their hardware and facilities. Thank you very much for the good management and for having such lovely employees.

We arrived at TimHotel on 26th August 2024 at around 1:00 pm, only to be informed that our triple room wasn’t ready. After killing time with lunch, we were finally given room 303 on the third floor, and our initial impression was pure disappointment. The room was shockingly tiny, and the lift barely accommodated our luggage, forcing us to make multiple trips. The space was so cramped that anyone would be taken aback! But then the real nightmare began. My son, who hadn’t had a chance to shower that morning, decided to freshen up. He turned on the water in the sink to brush his teeth, and within moments, the sink filled up, refusing to drain. To add to our frustration, the phone to reception didn’t work, so I had to trek downstairs to speak to a man wearing dark goggles. He casually mentioned he’d call a plumber but couldn’t guarantee when they’d arrive. When we suggested taking two rooms instead of waiting, he declined, insisting they’d fix the issue. The plumber finally showed up around 3:30 pm and, after an hour of poking around, admitted that the problem was severe. We had to go back to reception, and it wasn’t until 5:00 pm that we were given our room back, after the entire sink had to be replaced. To our utter disbelief, the receptionist later revealed that they were already aware of the issue thanks to complaints from housekeeping. Despite knowing the room was unfit for guests, they still gave it to us, ruining our first day completely. The rest of the stay was just mediocre. Breakfast was barely average, and the only redeeming feature was a cold water filter, which at least saved us from buying bottled water. The room lacked a fridge, and the A/C was a joke, barely functioning at 19°C, so we resorted to sleeping with the window open. The bathroom was absurdly small, fit for only one person at a time. As an Asian, even I found the space ridiculously cramped—imagine how a European would feel! The hotel’s location in the 2nd Arrondissement near Châtelet-Les Halles metro was about the only thing going for it, but it’s swamped with Japanese and Korean restaurants. If you’re not a fan of that cuisine, you’re better off finding another place to stay. Plus, there’s no parking nearby, so if you’ve got a rental car, avoid this hotel altogether. I didn’t have high expectations going in, but this experience was far worse than I could have imagined. The lift shaft was covered in a dusty, cobweb-filled grill that hadn’t seen a deep clean in ages. To say I wasn’t impressed is an understatement—this hotel is one to avoid at all costs!

This hotel isn’t necessarily bad. Pretty much exactly the amount of space I’d expect in a big city. However, the shower is so small, it is almost unusable and doesn’t seem properly sealed as water gets all over the floor even with the doors closed. The real big problem we have is, my husband got sick after we turned on the AC the second night. There is also visible mold on the walls which really raises concern about our health as we stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful but that unfortunately doesn't make up for the condition of the space and if there’s mold here I cant imagine a room switch could improve our stay. Disappointed in the cleanliness being contradictory to reviews I saw when this was booked and am really hoping to not get sick again for the remainder of our trip.

My mom and I stayed here in June to celebrate my birthday and overall we really enjoyed our experience. It is a great location! I highly recommend eating dinner at Bistrot Vivienne right around the corner. There is a market not far as well as a laundromat. As for the hotel itself, I really liked one of the staff members, Peter! He was so helpful and kind and out of all the staff members, he spoke the best English, which is helpful for an American’s first time in Paris. There is an elevator/lift, although it’s small (but it is glass, so not as claustrophobic as it could be). The rooms are very small, but comfortable. There is air conditioning! AC, A/C, Air Con, whatever you want to call it, it was nice and cool!! I searched the reviews of several hotels to find this information because having stayed in Italy last year with no A/C anywhere, I was miserable at night. This was not the case at Timhotel Palais Royal- there is air conditioning that you can control in the room and it was very comfortable! There is breakfast that is about €15/day and it’s okay, but not the best. None of the nearby cafes are open before 8 so if you have an early morning, it should be fine. A major con is the size of the bathroom, specifically the shower. If you are a “typical overweight American,” then it will not be a pleasant experience. Thankfully there is a detachable shower head so it’s possible to get yourself clean, but not as well as you’d probably like and it can get quite slippery. If you’re older and not able to bend down to reach your products outside of the shower, I would have someone help you. My recommendation for the hotel is to at least put a shelf or two in the shower because if it’s going to be the size of a coffin, the least you could do is make it easy for people to grab their soap! There are no outlets by the bed, which was tricky because I wear a CPAP, so I had to get creative. Otherwise those are really my only complaints. I would...
