This is a place that no American or any non-French speaker should go. This shop preys upon non-French speakers.

They had one sign showing you have to put a minimum amount of candy in your bag, all in French and as we kept asking them to weigh it the employee kept pointing to the sign indicating that was the amount you have to reach. Then another patron who spoke French came by after we had filed our bag up, as soon as the patron spoke French then the employee changed her attitude and then explained you do not have to fill the bag up to this amount. However they refused to allow us return any candy and it cost 100€.

Unless you speak French, please...

In pieno quartiere latino c'è questo negozio di caramelle. E' particolare, tutto in tema pirati: le caramelle sono tenute sopra botti e si ha l'impressione di essere in una cambusa di qualche nave ai caraibi, anche se dubito che all'epoca si mangiassero caramelle. Su ogni votte c'è un tipo di caramelle.. dalle classiche gelatine, alle liquirizie, a quelle zuccherate, ai marsh mallows. E' un po' l'isola del tesoro, o l'isola che non c'è, tanto per i grandi che per i piccini. Si naviga tra le botti e si prende un po' di questa, e un po' di quella. Si aggiunge una liquirizia, e un coccodrillo e poi una caramella e un marsh mallows. La navigazione comincia ad essere in acque turbolente quando si arriva alla cassa. Qui l'umore dei piccini e dei grandi si distanzia. Si posa la busta sulla bilancia e freddamente la cassiera ci chiede se va bene. Si guarda il risultato della bilancia e si è convinti di leggere male... e invece no! Le caramelle costano 10 volte tanto che il normale. Se in un qualsiasi supermercato le caramelle costano dal 5 a 10 euro al chilo, qui costano 5 euro all'etto...50 euro al chilo! E non so se la busta, piuttosto pesante, è stata contata come tara. Se volessi tornare, lo verificherei, ma dubito che lo farò. Il quartiere latino è diventato certamente una calamita per i turisti e dove tutto è turistico: tutto costa molto per una qualità scarsa. Ma qui siamo davanti al colmo: il prodotto omogeneo, uguale a quello che si può comprare altrove, ma il prezzo è 10 volte tanto. Incredibile. Se si vogliono sperperare soldi, benvenuti! Altrimenti penso di recarmi la prossima volta in uno dei supermercati vicini e comprare una o due sacchetti di caramelle per 3 o 4 euro. Ve lo...

This store is aptly named as they will rob you blind! They prey on Americans and other foreigners that don't know how much 100g is and equate 1 euro to 1 dollar. So you meander their store grabbing tongfulls of stale sugary candy to fill your bag. When you weigh out you will be shocked to find out that your small splurge just cost you about $50, for which you will walk out of the store with about $5 worth of candy you could buy at any American gas station.
