I WAS a returning customer, I come every year to Paris and always come to this store to buy gifts back. However this time round I have a very unpleasant shopping experience due to the sales staff unwillingness to give me 1 extra paper bag from buying 2 items??? (I wanted 3 but she gave 2, because I was afraid the bag I was carrying the 2 items will be damaged by the time I fly back home) Most of their customers come here to buy gifts but they can’t afford to give 1 extra paper bag (it’s not like I am asking for a lot) in case of the one we are carrying being damaged. Lost 1 returning customer due to the stinginess of the store female staffs. Mind you the prices here are high, and granted that you can justify that it is artisanal, made in France but previously when I came here the man serving me understands that price and presentation is important hence he gave me 1 extra paper bag in case the one I am using gets damaged. Moreover I heard the girls gossiping in French due to me asking for just 1 more paper bag (they think I do not understand). Rude and unprofessional. They don’t have any clue of customer lifetime value, and if they do this to every customer at the point of purchase it leaves a lasting sour shopping experience, how will customers recommend their friends/family to shop here. I almost wanted to refund everything I bought today due to mainly from the gossiping behind the back….
Piece of advice, if you’re reluctant to give another paper bag maybe u can start suggesting alternatives like charging extra for it instead of being rude behind the customer’s back? It makes the brand appear stingy especially if you want to present your products/prices as a premium artisanal...

A few weeks ago, we visited the magical Marin Montagut boutique. Knowing it’s filled with delicate and beautiful treasures, I cleverly left the kids outside and tiptoed in to soak up the atmosphere. As I slowly wandered through the store, I suddenly heard the unmistakable sound of something breaking. Annoyed, I turned around—were the kids inside after all?
Nope. It was me.
My backpack had knocked a porcelain dish off a table. Cue instant panic and deep embarrassment. But instead of scolding or stern looks, the store manager responded with genuine kindness and grace. I left the store with two lovely purchases… and a face redder than a Parisian sunset.
Thank you for turning an awkward moment into a story I now share with a smile. This place is truly special—go, but maybe…...
Read moreA charming and enchanting boutique gift shop primarily selling handpainted china and glassware with a Parisian flair. Everything was so cute I had a hard time narrowing my choices down to two items. The shops target appears to be visitors to the city and yet almost everything in the shop is fragile and breakable. As I was checking out I stressed to the staff that the items needed to be packaged for travel. I was underwhelmed by the pretty, yet flimsy packing material that was used. The hand painting was cute and inspiring. I was very disappointed that there weren't a few items made of enamelware or other nicer unbreakable materials. I just hope these items make it through multiple flights to their final destination. And oh yeah, prices...
