We went eating there around midday on a wednesday. The food and drinks were pricey. 5,5€ for a cola en 4,5€ for a water (which is fine because all around in Paris it's like this). For a croque monsieur its 9,5€ which is, let's face it 2 slices of bread 1 slice of cheese and one slice of ham: that's shamefull!
We ate pasta with cheese and fish with vegies. The fish was a deep frosted fish, the vegies were still hard (really hard). The pasta was seriously disgusting! I felt nausea all day, with moments of almost puking. I have no idea what the sauce was, but it looked like puke. The cheese was just small pieces of cheese on it (not melted, not in the sauce, just hard pieces).
With out a doubt one of the worst meals i had, considering the price they ask!
We paid about 40€ for 2 people for a very bad meal.
Some other small things: When we ask for bread, the weatress took gave us one piece with her hand into our hand! (It was seriously weird) the inside is not cosy there are spellingmistakes...
Read moreI've been in this restaurant a couple of times in it's previous incarnation, and I loved it. This time I was not impressed. The place is simple and unassuming, what would be fine if the food would make up for it. But I had a terrine de foie gras as starter, and it was just ok. A big slice of foie gras and toasted dark bread. The chutney of dried fruit was just a sample. Plus a green leaf mix. It was not bad, but nothing special. The chutney may have given it some character but it was a tiny amount. Then raviolis de chèvre. It was more a salad with a bit pasta than a pasta dish. The chef apparently loves this mix of leaves. The sauce was good. The difficult part was to find the goat's cheese. The last piece of pasta had a tiny amount of cheese inside. It didn't really look like stuffed pasta. Most of it had no filling. And overcooked. It was a good Friday, maybe the chef was on vacation. The service, well, there was a nice woman but she didn't really seem to have any...
Read moreLa Maison du Jardin is divine! Our dinner reservation was booked by my dear friend who is a flight attendant and who has over the years collected a treasure trove of highly recommended restaurants in Paris. There were 5 in our party & everyone’s order hit the table in a timely fashion, smelled heavenly and looked like a work of art, we were all immensely satisfied with our choices. Also, I must mention that their foie gras is what dreams are made of because I will be dreaming of it until I return and have it a second time. The staff are attentive, charming and take pride in their profession, they took such great care of our boisterous table and left us wanting for nothing. Even though we didn’t have much room for dessert we ordered 3 for the table and they didn’t disappoint either, it was a sublime feast for the eyes and the palate. Merci LMDJ
