Place d'Italie — Local services in Paris

Place d'Italie is not really in a French part of Paris- this is the China-Town where the Asian immigrants all end up. I highly recommend going here to taste the Asian restaurants and get some snacks from the Asian grocery stores.There is an excellent Pho restaurant in the Vietnamese section and a huge Asian Grocery store Dont come there thinking of getting the "FRENCH EXPERIENCE becaue you wont- most of the people you will see are immigrants who came to Paris to work, they are not Gaul-French. There is also an undergound shopping mall near by so you can shop the standard things in department stores. it is not as elegant as the Galleries Lafayette of course, this place is for the working class. LUGGAGE- warning there is no elevator in this M-station if you have heavy luggage coming from Gare du nord get a taxi, this station has a broken escalator and there are steps where you have to climb by foot- basically if you are handicapped in a wheel chair you cant exit this...

The worst public transport system I experienced in 20 years travelling worldwide and especially through Europe. 50 years old vending machines that were not replaced, that “work” just with card but not contactless and in reality doesn’t work at all…. There is not assistance at the entrance, in case the antique machines are not working, but there is staff that put you a fine for not correctly charging even if you pulsed the help button and the person that answered told you to go and pass through a door that has free access. All in all, a beautiful city, but worse than the transport system is the attitude of the people, especially the administration staff and public workers. In conclusion, they need to lower their level of superiority so it can meet their English...

The 1st time it could be imposing but you enter the tunnels and will get the colour coding for each metro / Multiple levels for each metro For the pink green line and friendly people it's easy . I got on to the green line while walking from a metro station then the stairs and then chose the one with the green sign .
