REPETTO — Local services in Paris

I came here on my vacation to Paris hoping to buy a pair of shoes as a treat. I own multiple pairs of Repettos. I do not speak French, so there was a language barrier but the saleswomen tried their best. However, when they brought me a pair of shoes to try on and I confirmed I wanted to purchase, they were going to give me the try on shoes which had visually dirty soles. I assume this was the pair that they use for try-ons. I asked if I could have a pair that were brand new and not dirty, but they said these were only worn in store and they will just wipe it off before boxing it up for me. If I am paying $400 for a pair of shoes, I expect them to at least be brand new and not dirty + worn by others. I decided to not purchase. I would rather continue ordering online if this is how they treat their customers in...

We visited the shop at 6pm on a Friday, and the shop was not crowded. The staff was very helpful and patient in helping us to find the right size for us, and even helped us to contact another store to check om the availability of the products.
