Bikentia’s Kebabery is one of the most unique dining spots I’ve visited in Kutaisi. The concept is unlike a typical restaurant experience. Here, you don’t sit down at a table for a long meal. Instead, you get your kebab served in a spicy sauce with bread and a drink. The tradition is to eat it while standing, which makes it feel more casual and authentic.
The kebab itself was really tasty, flavorful, and filling. I have eaten better kebabs elsewhere, but this one was still very enjoyable. The spicy sauce gives it a nice kick and pairs well with the fresh bread. It’s simple food, but it works perfectly for the setting.
What really stands out is the atmosphere. There’s something special about the energy of the place. People come in, order quickly, enjoy their kebab, and move on with their day. It feels like part of local culture rather than just another restaurant.
The uniqueness of the concept is what justifies the stop. It’s not about fine dining, but about experiencing something different. If you’re exploring Kutaisi, this is definitely a spot to try at least once. Grab a kebab, enjoy the quick burst of flavor, and continue your adventure.
Overall, Bikentia’s Kebabery is a fun, authentic, and tasty experience. A simple meal, served in a special way, that leaves a...
Read moreLove love love! As my partner says: "Just the fact that this place exists makes me happy". Walking through the doors, you literally step back in time. Lit.er.all.y. Definitely not misusing this word. As far as we could tell (with our shakey Georgian alphabet skills), they only serve kebab with fresh bread and various drink combos. It's perfect. After taking our halting order, the owner plonked a plate on the counter. A sea of aromatic tomato-y (slightly and awesomely spicy) sauce surrounded two kebab islands (the best islands) separated by a friendly wall of chopped parsley and onions. The owner then handed us half a loaf of freshly baked bread before we moved to a standing table sort of set up and dug in to our tucker and realised it's the best meal we've had in Kutaisi. And it was only 8 lari with 2 drinks... Whuuuuutttt....! It felt like we were old miner folk downing a hard earned meal after a long day underground. Which is startling as we aren't frequent miners and we'd only worked up a sweat by pottering about the city's attractions like the tourists we are. But that's how powerful the ambience is. For real. Get in there and get amongst it! Unless you're a vegetarian or vegan. Or gluten intolerant. Or standing intolerant. Or nostalgia intolerant. Then this...

Simply put, it was absolutely amazing.
Kebab, bread, and beer (or lemonade) – all for just 12 GEL! A juicy, meaty kebab paired with a sauce of perfectly ripe, flavorful tomatoes and a kick of spices – no wonder the beer keeps flowing!
Thanks to the fresh herbs, there’s very little of that strong “herbiness,” making it surprisingly easy to enjoy even for those who usually avoid cilantro or parsley.
And the standing-bar style adds to the charm – locals and travelers alike gathering on street corners, eating and drinking together in a casual, lively atmosphere.
The staff even greeted me in Japanese and were incredibly kind. Michelin Bib Gourmand scouts, take note – this...
